After his second album Seasick Steve won the Award for Best Breakthrough Act in UK in 2007. Then he made an all sold out UK tour, included performances at the Royal Albert Hall, The Edinburgh Queens Hall, the Grand Opera House in Belfast or the London Hammersmith Apollo. He was 66 at the time of breakthrough.

Before the success he was an itinerant street musician in France and Scandinavia. His first album, entitled Cheap, was released in Norway in 2001. He arrived to Europe from USA, where he was born in 1941. At 8 he learned to play the guitar from K.C. Douglas, who worked at his grandfather’s garage. K.C. was influenced by the great delta blues musician, Tommy Johnson. K.C. had a big hit in 1949, the Mercury Boogie. It was later renamed to Mercury Blues

Seasick Steve would be a hobo, travelled by freight trains sure, and worked as a seasonal farm worker, but sometimes joined various travelling shows. In the 1960s he started touring and performing with fellow blues musicians. Then he worked as session musician, studio engineer and producer for lil independent labels around Seattle in the 90s…

Kim Fowley (b. 1939) is notorious musician, producer, film maker et cetera. He has begun his musical career in the 60s. He was producer of many highly successful albums for example of Gene Vincent, KISS, Alice Cooper and Runaways, but he worked with punk bands too, like Dead Boys, Germs or Blowtorch. He is co-writer of many songs on those records which were produced by himself. Besides he has own albums, for example. His songs were covered and recorded by for example Nirvana, Sonic Youth or Primal Scream. He has appeared Frank Zappa’s records, and sang lead on two GWAR demo tracks. Moreover he wrote GG Allin’s obituary.

He is working on third part of his autobiography, entitled Lord of Garbage. It will be published the day of his death. No, there’s nothing scandalous, just „because it’s good marketing.” And a there will be a perfume parallel with the book. „It’s called “Garbage.” Smells like jock straps and junkyards.”

The Steam Engine Stalled

Steam Engine was one of the best Hungarian metal band. They played very strange, so-called experi-metal music. They are the sole metal band who played at RNR666 Party. Their last EP to be released within days. All of records are free download from their Bandcamp.

Októberben egy igazi bébi első lépéseinek lehetünk szem-és fültanúi, ugyanis Európába, sőt ami még fontosabb, Budapestre látogat a Grave Babies. A trió a grunge fővárosának méltán nevezhető Seattle szülötte, de ereiben inkább a sötét, zajos synth pop csörgedezik. Első hanganyagukat a neves Skrot Up kiadó rögzítette és adta ki 2011-ben. Ez olyannyira elnyerte Sub Pop gyermek kiadójának a Hardly Art-nak a tetszését, hogy a Grave Babies második, hosszabb és komolyabb hangvételű megmozdulását már ők vették fel és bocsájtották piacra 2013 elején, amit természetesen a nagyobb, ismert zenei oldalak rögtön a keblükre öleltek.

A babazsúrt a francia Abschaum fogja nyitni, akinek zenéjében szintén fellelhető egy jó adag synth pop, azonban nála zajról szó sincs, inkább a monotónia és a pszichedelia keveredik, remekül harmonizálva egymással. Ha egy Moon Duo és a Disappears lemezt egyszerre elindítunk akkor nagyjából meg is van, hogy mivel hangolódhatunk majd az este fő fellépőire.
