A lemezt Amerikában egy jó nevű kis független kiadó, a Dais adta ki. Néhány név a Dais diszkográfiájából: Missing Foundation, Psychic TV, Bestial Mouth, Cult Of Youth, Sightings. A második album már egy nagy független lemezcégnél, a Matadornál jelent meg év elején. Az Iceage nagy sikerű amerikai és európai fellépések után csütörtök este Budapesten a tökéletesen illeszkedő Broken Cups és der Tanz társaságában a Dürer Kertben lép fel.

The New Way Of Danish Fuck You – is the name of Copenhagen real time punk scene. The best known member of it is the Iceage. The band became known by his first album in 2011. It was released by a noted little independent label, Dais Record. Some names from the Dais discography:  Missing Foundation, Psychic TV, Bestial Mouth, Cult Of Youth, Sightings. Their second album was released by a big independent label, Matador, in January. After highly successful American and European gigs the band will give a show in Budapest at Dürer Kert on Thursday with Broken Cups and der Tanz.

A Daikiri / Don Vito turné hatodik utasa a neves francia grafikus művész, C R A O M A N, aki képregényt rajzol az utazásból. A turné a morvaországi Brünnből indul,  legtávolabbi pontja Törökország fővárosa, Ankara. A végállomás pedig Ceske Budejovice.

The sixth traveller of Daikiri / Don Vito tour is the French graphic artist, C R A O M A N, who make a comic book about the Ears Crisis Tour from Brno (CZ) as far as Ankara (Turkey) and back to Ceske Budejovice (Budweis).

Some people can write all sort of stupidity about them: punk, hardcore, crossover, Big Black(?). No, the Oozing Wound is a first-class Thrash Metal band without all the banalities of metal, for example needless guitar solos and high-pitched shrieks. Not accidentally the Thrill Jockey to release their debut album. It is not truly a metal label, rather experimental. Some artist from the rotate: Black Pus, Boredom, Chicago Underground, Mouse On Mars, Tortoise, White Hills.

„Wet Nuns was a joke we started in the summer of 2009. We never thought we’d do much more than play a couple of the pubs in and around Sheffield. (…) our four year long joke isn’t very funny anymore. We’re sick of the sight of each other and the band is imminently to cease to exist.”

Their posthumous first album, titled Self Congratulatory, will be released on Oct 6.

Instead of the planned Euro Tour the farewell tour will be only in England.

from the Longing for the Past: The 78 rpm Era in Southeast Asia box set by Dust to Digital

The Burmese actor, U Myat Lay sings this very strange, drunken song. It was „original sound track” of a silent film, Miss Whiskey in the 1930s. The silent film songs released on 78 rpm records at that time. These were excellent promotional tools, and frequently, the musicians who recorded a song would also perform when the movie was shown in the big city theaters in Burma.

In consequence of three Anglo-Burmese Wars there were many Scotsmen in that time. The first war officially broke out in 1824, because expansion of the Burmese Empire reached the British sphere of interest in India. In the end of war „The question is not how much you will cede to us but how much we shall return to you.” In 1885, in the end of third war the answer was: nothing. This war was a preventive act, because France took a growing interest in rest of Burma. Otherwise Myat Lay could have sung about Mlle Cognac.
Burma gained its independence in 1947. Since then there: or/and: civil war, coup d’état, military government, rebellion, turbulence.

If you interested in the Burmese weekdays under British rule, there was a police officer in the Indian Imperial Police in Burma from 1922 to 1927, who wrote a novel about it. You can read it in English here. Magyarul itt.
