Russian band uSSSy originally played noise-rock with elements of blues, techno and black-metal. By the third album of the band they became a drum’n’guitar duo, and development of the band went in the direction of Middle Eastern music. The unique sound of the band is the result of use of a specially modified baritone guitar, which were mounted additional quarter-tone frets, just as those made by Middle Eastern instruments. In 2014 Artem has left the band. Pavel continuous to play by his own as Holy Palms.

Én személyszerint, sokkal jobban szeretem Szabó Eszter Ágnes médiaművészt, egykori tanárnőmet, mint ahogy valaha is szerettem David Bowie-t, az idén januárban megboldogult popkulturális ikont, viszont Szabó Eszter Ágnesnél csak kevesen szerethetik jobban David Bowie-t – amit nem csupán az azóta súlyosan beégett mém, a Nagymamám, Zalai Imréné találkozása David Bowieval falvédő példáz…

…de Szabó Eszter Ágnes, most egy kifestőkönyv formájában is lerója tiszteletét a cingár énekes dalszerző előtt. Mivel holnap lesz a kifestőkönyv ősbemutatója, ezért gondoltam, számomra lenne megtiszteltetés első előttiként hírt adni erről a csodálatos és megható vállalkozásról, feltettem tehát pár kérdést az alkotónak, hogy mi is ez a Ziggy Stardust Coloring Book névre keresztelt izé?

hány oldalas? ez művészet vagy szórakoztatás?
16 oldal. Az egyik oldalon a Bowie\Ziggy, a másikon a ruhájának a mintája. Illetve az alapvetés, hogy azokért a dolgokért, amik távol vannak tőlünk nem tehetünk semmit, ezért a mintákat közelebb hoztuk. Fontos , hogy a „magas” művészet és popkultúra kapcsolatának újradefiniálását teszi lehetővé David Bowie lezárult életműve. A pop ezen szakasza klasszicizálódik és lehet, hogy a Bowie lesz az az alkotó, akinek az életműve és annak reflexiói egyszerre tartoznak a magas képzőművészethez és a szórakoztató iparhoz. Én mindig azt vártam, hogy egyszer majd céllövöldében lehet lőni a búcsúban, a nagyis falvédő műanyag változatára!

hány év telt el a „Nagymamám…” c. műved óta?
18, de van egy új falvédő is, amin megöregedett a Bowie is és végül elvette a szatyrot a nagyitól.

csak a ziggy stardust-univerzumot öleli fel a lapokon kibontakozó történet?
Igen, csak a Ziggy Stardustot. A Glamrockkal foglalkozom és a Ziggy korszak nagyon meghatározó a glamrock dresskódját illetően. A történet a ruhák és a nemi szerepek körül zajlik.

hol lehet majd kapni?
Mivel ma hoztam el a nyomdából, ezért a terjesztést szervezzük éppen de holnap a B32 Galéria és Kultúrtérben lesz a bemutató 16.30-kor, ahol lesznek még nagyon limitáltan pólók és más dolgok is!

Idén januárban lett kiadva hazánk szövegileg, és hangzásilag az egyik legkíméletlenebb előadójának, a Halalnihilnek legújabb albuma, ami az ‘Isten Előtt Senki Se Értékesebb Egy Taposnivaló Féregnél’ címet viseli. A projekt ezen az anyagon hanyagolja a minimalista perfomansz jelleget, és visszatér az összetettebb, komplexebb hangzáshoz, tele különféle akusztikus/elektronikus zajokkal, disszonáns szintetizátor témákkal, és rendkívül domináns, arcamászó, legtöbbször szónoklathoz hasonló vokálokkal.

A számok megszólalásának érzete a hangos, és a nagyon hangos között váltakozik, csak egy kevés szünetet hagyva a fülnek, hogy aztán újra támadás alá vegye. Az egészben ráadásul valami groteszk zeneiséget, megjegyezhetőséget is fel lehet fedezni, ami ebben a műfajban annyira nem gyakori. De felesleges ilyesmiről ennyit írni, ezt hallani kell! Az album ingyenesen (bár fizetni is lehet érte, amolyan becsületkasszásan) letölthető!

Daisy Chains is a very responsive Minneapolis trio. Minimalist fuck you pay me post punk leanings intersect slow country drawl and rock and roll swagger in interesting ways to create something unique that also nods to greats such as Dead Moon, Beat Happening, and Opal.

NP223 Stefan Christensen „Isreal (Its More of the Same)” C32 (full  album here)

Stefan Christensen was the lead man in long running New Haven Connecticut arty DIY punk outfit the Estrogen Highs (e.g. Trouble in Mind, Telephone Explosion, Dead Beat or Southpaw Records), and hc-punk band Iron Hand.

He has walked away to a more abstracted discordant and subtle area of the post punk. Kiwi influences such as This Kind of Punishment, the Dead C, Alastair Galbraith and the Xpressway label sound stick out along with the Mike Rep Ohio scene of weirdo rock and the general goodness of early UK DIY as prime vantage points.

He is running C/Site Recordings. Now they have launched a store with releases available from Estrogen Highs, Stefan Christensen, Pieces of Fruit, Worn Leather, Mountain Movers, Medication, Phemale, and Jon Eriksen. First batch of cassette releases coming in the spring, which will include releases from Stefan Christensen, Medication, and more.
