„Slumberland began operations in 1989 as a collective effort consisting of members of DC area bands Velocity Girl, Big Jesus Trash Can/Whorl, Black Tambourine and Powderburns. We were inspired by such musical happenings as C-86, early Creation, Postcard, K, Bus Stop, lower East Side noise, and also the renegade art aesthetics of people like Cage, Burroughs and Duchamp. The explosion of punk had left behind a thriving network of ‘zines, labels and distributors and we felt that there was room for our noise-loving, pop-obsessed aesthetic. While there were loads of US indie labels releasing a steady stream of 7″s, there wasn’t much pop going on.”

Rip van Winkle is a short story about a Dutch settler who escapes to the mountains from his naggin wife. He meets a group silent, bearded men who are playing nine-pins. Rip does not ask who they are, instead, he begins to drink some of their moonshine* and soon falls asleep for 20 years, so sleeping through the American War of Independence (1775-83). 3 black brothers underwent from funk to punk in Detroit, 1974. The trio was called Death. They self-released only one single before they transformed into a gospel rock band in 1977, but later they turned into reggae. The Death stayed fully unknown until 2009. After two archival albums this is the final one, featuring studio recordings from 1975, 1978, 1980 and 1992.

Mai Mai Mai is a solo project of Toni from frantic noise rock band Hiroshima Rocks Around and wacky pop duo Trouble vs. Glue. Mai Mai Mai is a travel in time and space: a mix of drone and ambient, techno beats, field recordings and soundscapes on the border between East and West. Delta is second part of his journey across the Mediterranean Sea. His fellows on this trip: a movie star junkie Gianni Giublena Rosacroce on clarinet, Donato Epiro on organs from occult psychedelic duo Cannibal Movie and Piovs on Moog.
