Shovels and Rope is a Charleston, SC band consisting of Michael Trent and Cary Ann Hearst. Formed in 2010, they sing harmony driven folk, rock and country songs using two old guitars, a kick drum, a snare, a few tambourines, harmonicas, and and maybe a little keyboard sometimes.

Some days before here was the news about a project of Chris Constantinou (The Wolfmen, Adam Ant) and Paul Frazer (Prodigy, Black Futures). They gathered a bunch of legendary British and American punk/ska/new wave artists and made together an album under the name of The Mutants. They went to Japan and did the same thing with members of Guitar Wolf (atomic garage „lock and lol” trio from Nagasaki. They provoked Eric Friedl from The Oblivians to start the Goner Records in 1993. After the first sight he wanted to publish their album. ) + The 5.6.7.8’s (all-female rockabilly rock and roll trio. They’re famous from their appearance in Tarantino’s Kill Bill vol 1.) + Mika Bomb (London based 3/4 Japanese all girl pop punk band) + Jackie & The Cedirics (surf rock trio) + The Neatbeats (beat) + The Let’s Go’s (all-girl candy rock and roll trio) and more. Here is a song
The album is coming soon
One of the favourite bands of RNR666’s official pin-up girl, the Magic Cats Rockabilly Trio chose a familiar sounding name for its song. We’d be more surprised if the song got titled Satisfaction but this choice raises some questions, too.
RNR666: You know the Rolling Stones song of the same title?
Magic Cats: Yes, I know, it’s dope! I used to listen to as well!
RNR666: Were you influenced by this song?
Magic Cats: With this song, no. But the music of the Rolling Stones inspires us, the style we play, rockabilly and garage-rockabilly, borrows a lot from their hard riffs and their pulsating rhythm.
from 7″ vinyl on Bubca and Goodbye Boozy Records (Italy)

YOU. is the name of a band in New York. Just try to search it on the net… Their music is better. Cold but danceable synth punk a la Digital Leather and New Order

The BILDERS are groups of various musicians and friends from New Zealand, Australia, United States, Germany, Austria and France. In 2013 there were 3 different line-ups, one in Australia, one in New Zealand and one in Germany. The New Zealander musician and writer Bill Direen stands in the centre of these groups. Their melodic minimal art pop is just like the Blurt.
Now here is a special 7″ vinyl with 3 tracks from 3 different line-ups. It consists a situationist exposé of current damn fool world political events: „The utopians R just out of boozin”; an appealing ballad plus a simmering live extract from a recent European tour. The ballad is like a song by Mick Harvey
SmartGuy Records (US)

If you want a copy you need keep your eyes on their message board, because „Folks, the label fucked up and the new record Rhythm and Punk Review will be available later this week. So stupid. Thanks for being patient, if you were patient. If you weren’t, who needs ya, pfffft! ” (30 July 2014.)
The story of Harry Merry has started at his aunt’s pub in Delft. As a little boy there he gazed at a juke-box. „I was hypnotized by all these vinyl-singles constantly rotating with those specifically coloured lable-etiquettes in the middle. (…) My most favourite ones were from Apple-records, Pye Records (especially the dark pink one) and CBS-records (the old orange one; not the ugly later one).”
Further determinative things of his life: piano lessons, The Beatles and Roland keyboards. „The musical genres that have been adopted by me on these keyboards are as follows: Rock’n’Roll, Rhythm & Blues, Beat, Ballads, Schlager, Latino, Chansons, Liedjes and lately also some Slovenian Pop and Serbian Turbo-folk.” Besides he is equally regularly being influenced by classical music from the likes of Mozart, Beethoven, Wagner, Mahler and Sibelius. And works of Charles Dickens is also a source of inspiration for him.
„I hope to write an opera before I’m forty.” I hope it is done.

Six months should see the end of it.

PC Worship is a Brooklyn base band. The main figure is Justin Frye who played with psychedelic rock group Guardian Alien and punk band Gary War. No wave noise punk chaos and cacaphony by a bunch of musician. It’s like a mix of Butthole Surfers, Lydia Lunch and Foetus (aka Clint Ruin).
