Az OvO zenekarral 2007-ben találkoztunk először, mikor a miskolci DIGÉP zenekar fellépett a párizsi Sonic Protest fesztiválon ami valami olyasmi mint itthon az Ultara Hang. Több napos nemzetközi kísérleti zene fesztivál rengeteg jó fellépővel. Azok közül akiket mi láttunk fellépni ők nyűgöztek le leginkább. Egy nagydarab csuklyás férfi dobolt és egy vékony apró lány földig érő rasztákkal gitároztt és hörgött, visított valamiféle minimál okkult sátánista metált, vagy valami hasonlót. A koncert után a digépes Sado beszélt velük és cseréltek címet. Rá egy évre már az Almássy téren játszottak RNR666/FŐDALATTI szervezésben nagyszínpadon, füstgéppel profi cuccon. Erre pár hónapra meg a Filterben  gyakorlatilag egy Dj keverőn keresztül. Mai napig emlékszem a hangtechnikusuk arcára amikor leesett neki, hogy ez nem poén, itt ez a keverő. De jó bulit nyomtak. Aztán voltak még a
IV.Retek fesztiválon Miskolcon, meg volt egy Müszis buli is. Ez a négy koncert amin én voltam csak mindig egy lépéssel felfele lépett minden tekintetben, ahogy számomra a lemezeik is csak egyre jobbak. Úgyhogy elképzelhető, hogy ez a következő budapesti buli lesz a legjobb ……………

It is a long story that Hungary how can get to the edge of a civil war after 27 years of the fall of Communism. This is not the right place to write about. But what’s going on:

The Hungarian government has been changed the law of education in order to close the Central European Univerity because it is an independent organization. But in Hungary, just dependent and subjected organizations are OK for the ruling party Fidesz.

During the demonstrations, the corrupt leaders of the ruling party have threatened other universities, organizations, and everybody who stand back freedom of education and civil liberties. The Fidesz usually use the power of „white trash” to gain its goals: football hooligans, far-right groups, its para-military bands together with violent pensioners with acid full with communist nostalgia, and wish for the strong man, who defend themselves against „EU”, „migrants” and „liberalism”, which is a swear-word in the Hungarian right and far-left wing dictionary, it also means „jew”, „Jewish”.

It will emerge in this times that Hungary will be a European style liberal democratic civil country, or de facto a Russian puppet state, and a national socialist officer country on the periphery, who lends money to the Iranian nuclear program.

Strange. None the less he has been started his career in the early 80s I have been never heard about BEN VAUGHN before. His 16th album is the first I have listened. And I am impressed.

The album Piece de resistance has been released recently on French label KIZMIAZ RECORDS. It’s full of good old frenchy western swings and moods. Easy and elegant as this verse from the title song is

„sabotage, bon vivant, nouveau riche, je ne sais quoi, s’il vous plaît, c’est la vie, femme fatale, repertoire”

He made an album Cubist Blues together with Alan Vega and Alex Chilton in 1996. Chilton started his career as a teen star in Memphis in the 60s, then formed the band Big Star, moved to New York and played often at CBGB in the 70s, then in early 80s went to New Orleans at Louis XVI Restaurant to dish wash. Sabotage, bon vivant.

LA COLONIE DE VACANCES

started as a collective tour of French bands

ELECTRIC ELECTRIC + MARVIN + PAPIER TIGRE + PNEU

in the summer of 2010.

The idea of 11 musicians playing together emerged on that tour at Tours’ Festival Rayons Frais where they were invited to play at the 4 corners of Tours’ Castle courtyard. This turned into ‘LA COLONIE DE VACANCES’, a quadraphonic sound system, throwing the audience in the center of a musical ping-pong game played by two, three or four teams. This has been turned into a 10″ vinyl + a 100 illustrated pages book.

The vinyl – titled Concentric Grooves – is a very specific one because it is readable in multi-grooves. The concept was borrowed from Monty Python’s album Matching Tie and Handkerchief from 1973. It was mastered with two concentric grooves on side two so that different material would be played depending on where the stylus was put down on the record’s surface.

on KYTHIBONG and MURAILLES MUSIC and SUPER LOTO EDITIONS (F)

as BRAT FARRAR running a one-man-punk band
and plays surprisingly various lo-fi punk music.

He said the sound is reminiscent of early Wipers, Chrome, The Spits, Suicide, a bit like My Bloody Valentine (well just the guitars) on a few tracks and sometimes like power pop bands recorded incorrectly.

And even more like his fellow Australian TV Colours. Same feeling.
