EGY DÜHÖS BEAT ZENEKAR
A 2011-ben Bergamoban alakult LE MUFFE dob-basszus-orgona trió leginkább egy dühös beat zenekar. Hangzását elsősorban egy Farfisa orgona és kezelőjének orgánuma határozza meg. Mellette egy meglepően agresszív ritmusszekció áll. Zenéjükben a 60-as évek beatje találkozik a 80-as évek hc-punkjával. Az Archie & The Bunkers meg a Question Mark & The Mysterians jutnak róla eszembe. Egyesek még egy kis oi hatást is felfedeznek benne, nekem meg Step by Step című számuk egyenesen black metálos. Csípős, lázító, önironikus szövegeik üzenete az, hogy nem az a baj, ha elbuksz a küzdelemben, hanem az, ha meg sem próbálsz ellenállni az elmebetegnek tűnő többségi társadalomnak, hétköznapi ostobaságainak.
A LE MUFFE eleve gitáros nélkül alakult. Sőt, egy ideig basszista nélkül működött, így a második lemezükön az orgonista volt kénytelen basszerozni. Aztán nemrég került végre egy megfelelő basszeros, a Sick Boy névre hallgató, aki év elején megjelent harmadik lemezükön is játszik. A lemez egyébként annyira jó, hogy egyszerre három kiadónál is megjelent. Ráadásul olyan szerencsések vagyunk, hogy novemberben csapnak egy kis magyar turnét csakis a Ti kedvetekért:

The Japanese Mutants
Some days before here was the news about a project of Chris Constantinou (The Wolfmen, Adam Ant) and Paul Frazer (Prodigy, Black Futures). They gathered a bunch of legendary British and American punk/ska/new wave artists and made together an album under the name of The Mutants. They went to Japan and did the same thing with members of Guitar Wolf (atomic garage „lock and lol” trio from Nagasaki. They provoked Eric Friedl from The Oblivians to start the Goner Records in 1993. After the first sight he wanted to publish their album. ) + The 5.6.7.8’s (all-female rockabilly rock and roll trio. They’re famous from their appearance in Tarantino’s Kill Bill vol 1.) + Mika Bomb (London based 3/4 Japanese all girl pop punk band) + Jackie & The Cedirics (surf rock trio) + The Neatbeats (beat) + The Let’s Go’s (all-girl candy rock and roll trio) and more. Wreckless Eric is one of the most influential artists to emerge from the Stiff Records stable. He went on to have one of punk’s biggest hits with “Whole Wide World” in 1977 and inspired a legion of artists from Yo La Tengo to The Vaccines and from Marianne Faithful to Lilly Allen. In his thirty-seven He has made seventeen albums and worked with, or had his songs covered by artists as Proclaimers, Blockheads, Lightning Seeds, Holly Golightly, Cliff Richard, Monkees, Toten Hosen and Two Lone Swordsmen, to name a few.
The British painter Peter Blake named Wreckless Eric as one of the most important pop icons of the past forty years, and included him on the remake of The Beatles Sergeant Pepper’s cover. (Blake has made the original one.) Another important pop icon Lou Reed played his Take The Cash on on his last ever radio show, recorded a week before he died. Fire Records will reissue his 1989 album Le Beat Group Electrique on Record Store Day. It will be on 19 April this year.

Melvins “Tres Cabrones” album with original drummer, Mike Dillard.
Dillard left the band and was replaced by Dale Crover in 1985, but they and Buzz Osborne (guitar, vocals) then played together in Kurt Cobain’s first band, Fecal Matter, moreover Crover played drums in the early Nirvana. An other founding member of Melvins is Matt Lukin, who founded the Mudhoney. He is retired from music and working as a carpenter since 2001.

The Bestial Mouth‘s style is called: deathrock. In this case it is primitive psychedelic industrial rock on synthesizers and drums with a female vocalist. Her voice is similar to Diamanda Galas or Lydia Lunch’s pleasant style. The Deathday‘s feeling and genre is same sure.
The Bielefeld Conspiracy is running forward. In the early 90’s Thilo Pieper has arrived in San Francisco, allegedly from Bielefeld, and established contact with the members of Mummies and formed the Astronauts, the Phantom Surfers and The Dukes of Hamburg with some of them. After a couple of years and records he went back to Germany and since then The Dukes of Hamburg has been running forward there, allegedly in Bielefeld. They plays excellent garage beat in 1964.
