Fúbazmeg ez aztán tényleg ritka genyó egy valami! Mint valami elbaszott Suicide, csak punkabb és NAGYON Low-Fi. Ez mondjuk az első két számra lehet(?) igaz a másik kettő kicsit másabb. Az egyik olyasmi mint a Mononegatives (róluk >> ITT << írtunk nemrég) a másik meg mondjuk…fogjuk rá mint az ausztrál Gee Tee, de itt az ének olyan dallamos meg tán még tiszta is, hogy elsőre kurvára nem is tetszett, aztán azon vettem észre magam, hogy ezt dúdolgatom órákkal később is. Lehet ez a legjobb dal a négy közül.

Lafff Box : Lafff Box (Turbo Discos) 2022

Kurvajó négy számos 7″ a német Turbo Discos kiadótól akik idén igen aktívak voltak és nagyon fasza dolgokat adtak ki (Ex-White, Lassie,theGobs,). A Lafff Box is német banda, jófajta gyors, tekerős punk brutál ritmusszekcióval, brutáljó hangzással és kurvajó dalokkal. Az egész annyira feszes, hogy van egy ilyen robot szerű, mechanikus hatása, kábé mint a The Spits-nek, vagy Rich Crook bizonyos dolgainak, mint a LOVER! vagy a Thing. És dögöljek meg, én belehallok egy kis Daily Void-ot meg Functional Blackouts-t is. Nagy örömömre! De a kedvencem számom egyértelműen a Weird Punch, arról meg egy másik német punk banda a Modern Pets jut az eszembe, amit imádok! Szóval engem levettek a lábamról, bármikor jöhetnének RNR666 Buliba Budapestre!
A Lefff Box tagjai más bandákban is játszanak: Ex-White, Lassie (na, ők majdnem jöttek RNR666 Buliba, de az egész túrnét hidegre tette a covid első hulláma).A dobosnak van egy solo izéje a Dee Bee Rich az is jó!

ARNDALES is a sardonic post-punk quartet,
a hidden gem at an English countryside warehouse.
Their long-awaited debut album „SHOPS” coming soon.

Some thoughts about them in special LUTON HAIKU style.
There are rules and laws which people attribute to haiku writing
which aren’t the concern of Luton haiku writers.

Luton, the lively English town somewhere in the Polish-Pakistani borderland
to where I arrived 2 and half years before as a mentally emigrant from Hungary.
Of course it was raining that day.

And then totally suddenly The Fall played in Luton
at a fest where the other day Lee Scratch Perry was the big name
but that day I went to London to see Guitar Wolf.

And then my eyes got stuck in a name in the festival book: ARNDALES.
Got its name after Arndale Centre which is known as The Mall in Luton nowadays.
And one time it was the biggest covered shopping centre in Europe.

I googled them. And it turned up that In The Red Records release them.
And it releases just fine stuff, like Bassholes, Black Lips, Chain & The Gang,
Jay Reatard, Kid Congo, Oblivians, Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees, Andre Williams

And I read their former bands are Country Teasers, Thrilled Skinny,
Badgewearer, Pregnant Neck, Collapsed Lung, Zuno Men,
and they played songs like this

rigth before The Fall at the same place.
And there I observed the guitar player’s hamburger patterned socks.
I thought those were witty symbol of the consumer idiotism.

On their new album they have taken inspiration from the world of retail jargon.
E.g. the opening track „Prestige Pricing” is named after the practice of inflating
the price of a product to indicate it’s prestigious status.

The album „SHOPS” is coming soon on IN THE RED RECORDINGS.
And there is nothing shiny. Just old fashioned music like the old Fall
with a Negativland song which is replaced to mid Bedfordshire.

CHAI is 4 Japanese girls: Mana, Kana, Yuna and Yuuki. They say Tom Tom Club, Basement Jaxx, Gorillaz, Cansei de Ser Sexy and Marvin Gaye as their influences. I add Devo and Gary Numan to them. This song about the world where the pretty face and cute shape are far more important than the personality:

The Wall is recognized as one of the most famous concept albums of all time. Bass guitarist Roger Waters conceived the album as a rock opera during Pink Floyd’s 1977 In the Flesh Tour, when his frustration with the audience became so acute that he spat on them. Its story, which follows themes of abandonment and personal isolation, explores Pink, a character whom Waters modeled after himself and Syd Barrett who one time was the main songwriter of the band, but was fired owing to psychedelic behaviour in 1968. Later he turned into a silent mad. Well, Pink’s life begins with the loss of his father during the Second World War, and continues with abuse from his schoolteachers, an overprotective mother, and the breakdown of his marriage; all contribute to his eventual self-imposed isolation from society, represented by a metaphorical wall.

Ben Wallers said about: – I don’t find Roger’s lyrics embarrassing if I listen to The Wall with my Mom; but if I listen to Animals with my Dad, I get embarrassed and have to go to the toilet, sorry I mean bathroom.

Anyway Waters is the really interesting character for me. A hopeless case, an utter shit-head. Brilliant character actor and composer. But I have to confess it was burnt into me at age 11/12/13 when I got into ‘Dark Side of the Moon’, ‘A Collection of Great Dance Songs’, ‘The Final Cut’ and ‘The Wall’. I loved them unquestioningly.

So much so that he and Alastair Mackinven also from Country Teasers now show you THE DARK SIDE OF THE WALL on their song for song interpretation triple album under name of THE STALLION.

Apropos of their work they quote inaccurately the cop who shuts the jailcell gate on Woody Allen’s character in „Deconstructing Harry”: – Let me give you some advice: YOU’RE IN DEEP SHIT.
