The band was founded 25 years back by three countryside brothers after they went to a Spacemen 3 show in the nearby big city. Their music is distorted rock and roll of the 50-60 years with a big spoon blues and dub technique in highly psychedelic manner. They’ ve only released 3 three albums on Voodoo Rhythm Records. In 2014 they made music for a documentary Tino – Frozen Angel about legendary Swiss counter-culture hero Martin „Tino” Schippert (1946-81), who was the president of Swiss chapter of Hell’s Angels. Because of a rape the Angels became a target of prosecution, he escaped from Switzerland. He lived in Lebanon, where he worked as a hashish farmer. But finally he went to Bolivia, and died there in a small village Tutilimundi, it means All Worlds.
On their albums there are some covers. Now you can listen to the original and the cover ones too
About the songs
Johnny B. Goode is a 1958 rock-and-roll song written and first recorded by Chuck Berry.
Little Anthony and the Imperials is an American rhythm and blues/soul/doo-wop vocal group from New York City, their first single was Tears on My Pillow in 1958.
The song It Hurts Me Too is a blues standard. First recorded in 1940 by American blues musician Tampa Red. Elmore James (1918 – 1963) who was an American influential blues musician, recorded his own versions in 1957, and in the early 60s.
David „Junior” Kimbrough (1930 – 1998) was an American juke joint blues legend. Whose first single was released in 1967, but his first album came out just in 1992 by Fat Possum Records. The song Baby Please Don’t Leave Me taken from his last album Meet Me In The City (1999). In 2005, a tribute album was released with such artists as Iggy Pop, Mark Lanegan, Jack Oblivian, Black Keys, Spiritualized or Blues Explosion. Even Daft Punk also made a 15 minutes long re-edited version of a Kimbrough’s song I Gotta Try You Girl in 2016. Reputedly he was survived by 36 children.
The Ballad of Casey Jones is a traditional song about railroad engineer Casey Jones. It tells of how Jones and his fireman Sim Webb raced their locomotive to make up for lost time, but discovered a freight train ahead of them on the line, and Casey tried to stop the machine and save the passengers. His body was found lying under the cab, with his skull crushed and right arm torn from its socket. The fireman jumped just in time to save his life. The express messenger was thrown against the side of the car, having two of his ribs broken by the blow, but his condition is not considered dangerous. The train was only two minutes behind schedule.
Soon after Casey’s death (30 April 1900), the song was first sung by engine wiper and friend of Casey to the tune of a popular song of the time known as „Jimmie Jones”. As railroaders stopped in Canton, Mississippi they would pick up the song and pass it along. American country blues guitarist Walter E. „Furry” Lewis (1893 – 1981) recorded his version in 1928. Anyway he was a street sweeper for the city of Memphis, he held this job until his retirement in 1966.
Red Foley (1910 – 1968) is one of the greatest country musicians. He was an inspiration to rock ‘n’ roll, in particular Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley, who both covered many of his songs. Will the Circle Be Unbroken? is a popular Christian hymn, was written in 1907. The Red Foley version was published in 1958.

Lakásában rendszerint üvöltött a zene, Ramones, Pistols, Clash, ilyenek.
One man bandként a kétezres évek eleje óta nyomul Joe Buck Yourself néven. Ugyan van pár CD-je, de a lemezkiadás nem nagyon izgatja, inkább a koncertekre összpontosít. Végül is állandóan úton van.

És hogy ki az a Hank Williams? Ő a country legenda.
Koncertre tartott. 29 éves volt.
És hogy ki is valójában Joe Buck?
THE GODDAMN GALLOWS play „gutterbilly” or „hobocore”, a unique blend of country, blues, rockabilly and rock and roll, „but still with just enough hardcore and punk influence to make your parents hate it.”
It was founded as a trio in 2004 somewhere in Michigan, in the heart of the rust belt. Once it was named as steel belt because of the grade of industrialization. The decline occurred gradually, as rust eats iron. It started in the middle of the past century, in the heyday of American dream. But a nightmare came to the end of the century: shrinking cities, abandoned industrial buildings and homes, high unemployment and crime rates – just because the economic courses were changed during the dreaming. For example there is Motor City, aka Detroit, where a music empire, the Motown, was established on the black workers. More than 1 million residents ran away from there, and the city lost 61.4 % of its population (1950: 1 849 568, 2010: 713 777).

The band moved forward West, where they lived in abandoned buildings, squatter camps, storage units and shoebox apartments, and mainly on the road. Where they picked up stray musicians along the way during endless tours, so the band is a quintet today, and you can find there such instruments like accordion, banjo, mandolin and washboard too. Fortunately their drive has taken them to Budapest at RNR666 PARTY. Here are more smashing shots about that frantic show by Márk Martinkó.
You can hear the latest album The Maker here. New album is coming in 2017.

even a Czech cartoon hero too.

In 1992 when the coach of the gothic country band Denver Gentlemen temporarily broke down David Eugene Edwards went forward with 16 Horsepower, while Slim Cessna has found his Auto Club, a christian, but apocalyptic country band. And so punk, that Jello Biafra signed them for his label Alternative Tentacles. (For what he was critizised by the dumb punk community.) But the new album ‘The Commandments According To SCAC,’ will be released soon by their own label SCACUNINCORPORATED in the US, and Glitterhouse Records in Europe.
I put this

on bandcamp as a single b/w Pope Innocent if anybody wants to download it. I hope everyone is happier than me.
Don Howland, The Bassholes
Thanx Don.
ps: At first there were the legendary Gibson Bros. in Ohio in the mid-80s. They played a unique mix of American roots music: blues, gospel, hill- and rockabilly with punk attitude. After split of the Gibsons the Bassholes were founded in 1992 by a “Gibson”, Don Howland (guitar) and Bim Thomas (aka Obnox, drums). But now on drums: James Owen (Burning Bus, Doom Ribbons, Wooden Tit) & keyboard: Kim Roney (The Family Swaggards, Rip & Run).

„Itt látható a nagyhírű bűvész!
A lábával karikázik,
A kezével citerázik,
Az orrával orgonázik,
A fülével figurázik,
A szemével gurgulázik,
A szájával vacsorázik!”

Here is the famous magician!
Plays with wheels by his foot,
Plays zither by his hands,
And organ with his nose,
Makes figures by his ears,
Gurgles with his eyes,
And eats with his mouth!

A new photo album with 134 historic images at deluxe size by Dust to Digital. A book with lots of found images. Among those aren’t photos of Bill Hayley, Elvis Presley or any usual person, but there’re ordinary, nameless men, women, and children. Most of the people in the photos wouldn’t have heard of rock’n’roll, much less thought of themselves as rock’n’roll progenitors. Instead, the images capture the gangly musicians, the giddy dancers, and the drunken antics found in smalltown America from the 1930s to the 1960s and beyond. All the musical genres that influenced what we know of as “rock” are represented: everything from jump blues and gospel to boogie woogie and Western swing.
The author, Jim Linderman says: “We have this notion that rock’n’roll started in Memphis in 1955, and it really didn’t. Bob Wills was playing in the ’30s and ’40s in Oklahoma, and Chuck Berry modeled Maybellene on a Bob Wills song. The roots of rock go back a lot further than we realize. It came from the church, from vaudeville, from the music played in after-hours clubs, from juke joints. The whole point was pretty much to get together, get drunk, and get laid. That’s the real history of rock ’n’ roll.”

As Muddy Waters said, “The blues had a baby and they called it it Rock and Roll.”

“Hell is a good place to write songs, get smashed, take drugs and destroy your sanity, well-being, future and relationships” – on the voice of Lee Hazelwood said the clown Warren Thomas, the head of country band The Abigails.

The next metal LP by American avant-garde experimental label Thrill Jockey Record is a split of The Body and Sandworm. The Body, „masters of expansive expressions of pure sadness”, really heavy and industrial metal. Sandworm is just a simple black metal punk band
