Double Cheese : Thee Black Album (Dirty Water Records) 2022

A lemez úgy kezdődik mint egy Destination Lonely szám a lazábbak, pszichedelikusabbak közül, aztán egy dobkiállás  után az egész átmegy egy iszonyat pszichedelik nyomulásba. Már itt tudtam, hogy imádni fogom ezt a lemezt. A második dallal még tesznek rá egy lapáttal az már ilyen Hawkwind szerű agybaszás. A ‘Pills & Wine‘ egy kedves garage-punk dal, ehhez készült videoklip is >> ITT <<. Vannak ilyen jemmelős/gúúvos részek, jó sok Farfisa orgona, fuzz satöbbi, de a kedvencem a ‘The Ants‘című szám az már eléggé direkt, punkos cucc. Néztem a youtube-on koncertfelvételeket és nagyon jól nyomják élőben a srácok! Igazi RNR666 Buliba való produkció, remélem egyszer sikerül leszervezni őket egy jó budapesti koncertre!

A zenekar az Atlanti-partvidék gyöngye néven is ismert La Rochelle városából való és ha jól tudom az alapító Ugo Martinez körül mindenki lecserélődött az évek során. A jelenlegi dobos, Hugo Suquet amúgy már lépett fel nálunk 2015-ben a Thee Maximators -al, akik akkor nagyon-nagyon fiatalok voltak (18 éves körül?), de nagyon jó koncertet adtak a Corvin tetőn.

Fura ez a La Rochelle. Kábé Székesfehérvár méretű város de van egy kurvajó garage punk kiadójuk a Frantic City Records (itt jelent meg többek között az első Regal lemez, a Chimicks – Modern Storm albuma vagy a francia-garage supergroupnak is tekinthető White Ass egyetlen nagylemeze.) és van egy rakás fasza zenekar is a városban, például a The Skeptics ahol egy ideig a Double Cheese-es Ugo Martinez is gitározott.

Odd Men Out : Odd Men Out (Dirty Water Records) 2022

Londoni székhelyű, de vegyes nemzetiségű (angol, spanyol, olasz), mondhatni supergroup. A hangzás, az imágó, minden full ’60-as évek garage rock, annak is a pszichedelikusabb, de nagyon bulizós változata. The Lemon Drops, The Seeds ilyesmik. Hallgatod ezt a zenét és jó kedved lesz tőle, bár tagadhatatlanul vannak mélységei is. Zúgnak-búgnak a gitárok, szól a jófajta Farfisa orgona, a basszusra meg a dobra pedig muszáj, hogy megmozduljon a lábad, ha mégsem, akkor ott nagy gondok vannak.

Az elején említettem, hogy supergroup-nak is tekinthető a zenekar. Miért mondom ezt? Engedelmet, de régi motorosokról van itt szó kérem.

A dobos a ’90-es években a csupa-csaj The Dirty Burds ’60-s garagepunk bandában nyomult de a The Embrooks tagja is aminek tavaly év végén jelent meg egy kislemeze, de a The Lyds -el is kiadtak két kislemezt amin valami nagyon fasza psy-folk garage-t hallani. Az orgonista/gitáros/énekes Alessandro szintén tagja volt a már említett The Embrooks-nak ééééééééés a római Head And The Hares-nek!!!! Miért olyan különleges ez? Mert ebben a bandában basszusozott a ’90-es évek elejétől Andrea, az olasz születésű, de sok éve Budapesten élő lemezgyűjtő, ’60-as évek szakértő barátunk aki több alkalommal pakolt már lemezeket RNR666 Bulikon.

Úgyhogy szegről-végről még kontakt is van a zenekarhoz, felőlem akármikor jöhetnének egy általunk (RNR666) szervezett budapesti buliba!

JOHNNY MAFIA hails from Sens, Burgundy (which is known more for it’s wheat and cereal production than rock ‘n’ roll) and bring a young, snotty, explosive and ferociously fun energy that drives audiences into a near-frenzy. Inspired by classics like The Ramones, T-Rex, and The Clash, they also draw heavily on contemporary acts like
Ty Segall, Jay Reatard, and the Wavves. The band have just released the video single for BIG BRAWL

after recently finishing recording and mastering their sophomore album PRINCES DE L’AMOUR with producer JIM DIAMOND – who was the bass player of Dirtbombs and produced albums for The Sonics, Andre Williams, The John Spencer Blues Explosion, White Stripes and countless others.

Jim was forced to shut the doors at his studio Ghetto Recorders in 2015 due to what can only be described as “hipsterfication in the downtown Detroit area when his landlord doubled his rent. He set up a new base in Montpellier, and continues his prolific presence across the scene, working with bands as far and wide from Cambodia to Cleveland. In recent years, Diamond has become something of an unofficial in-house label producer/engineer at DIRTY WATER RECORDS.

The album PRINCES DE L’AMOUR will release on 9 November on DIRTY WATER RECORDS (UK).
