Ears Crisis
In last year on the tour of noise rock bands DON VITO (D) and DAIKIRI (F) was a French graphic artist C R A O M A N, who has made a comic strip about the adventure from Brno (CZ) through the Balkans as far as Ankara (Turkey) and back to Ceske Budejovice (Budweis). Recently it has released together with another drawn tour on similar route with WARSAW WAS RAW, GRAND PREDATOR and JOHN MAKAY. „First tour is in french, the second one in english (level litterature of course!).”

An interview with Susi, the bass player of German noise rock trio, Don Vito about music, travelling and friendship
What was the music milieu like around you in Leipzig when you grew up? Who made the most significant impression on you in this period?
Well, we live in Leipzig since 2001. We all grew up in different cities around Magdeburg, a city 140 km north of Leipzig. That’s why it’s a bit hard to answer your question. Our guitar player used to listen to Hardcore when he was young, the drummer was a pure Punk and my own taste was chameleonic. During these years there were so many things, who influenced us, not only the music we liked/like and the bands we’ve in before, also the life itself, books, political circumstances, weather, family, friends, world… But I think the Fall of the Wall was the most significant impression in our youth.
How your music taste was being shaped by each other during the years?
As we know each other for decades it was a natural growing process. Someone came up with something new, the other liked it (or not) from the first moment, later or never ;). When you have 3 open-minded persons with different tastes of music, the individual taste grows a lot.

Our music is hyper kinetic instrumental noise tohubohu, and couldn’t be any more accurate.
Zenénk hiperaktív-instrumentális-zaj-zűr-zavar, és ennél pontosabban meghatározni lehetetlen. Viszont van benne rendszer – teszem hozzá. Nem fukarkodnak az ötletekkel, és nemigen ismételnek egy témát háromnál többször. A Lightning Bolt, AIDS Wolf és minden komplex, hiperaktív zene iránt érdeklődő nem csalódhat bennük az fix! – mondja erre Csühes.

Nyirkos, ködös november este, de szerencsére Rendesék nem laknak messze, meg aztán pálinka is van. És persze az útisör sem marad el. A helyen kihaltság. A koncertterem színpadán a Silence együttes játszik poszt-rocknak titulált valamit senkinek. Hát akkor sör, ök. Végre! Hát nincs az a nagy tolongás. A zenekarok tagjaival együtt 19-en vagyunk. A nézőtéren simán körbe tudjuk állni a franciákat. Elkezdik. A 30. másodpercben már egymást ütögetjük lelkendezve – Melt-Banana! Melt-Banana! Bazmeg ez kurva jó! Olyan, mint a Melt-Banana, ahhh! És nem tudunk hova lenni az örömtől: tapsolunk, kurjongatunk, üvöltözünk, fejet meg öklöt rázunk vagy 40 percen át, mert amit ezek ketten művelnek, bassza meg, az eszméletlen. Egy zenésztől hallottam, hogy nem igaz, hogy ugyanolyan intenzitással játszik az ember 5 embernek, mint 500-nak. Hááát, ha ez így van, akkor ezek egy 100 fős buli végét sem nagyon érnék meg. A 17 fős buli végén nagy taps, kurjongatás, üvöltözés, vállveregetés, ölelgetés és ajnározás. Kaptunk ajándékba jelvényt. Hordom.
Hazafelé arra gondoltam, hogy legközelebb RNR bulin kellene fellépniük, akkor lenne vagy 60 ember. Aztán meg mikor hallottam, hogy a Don Vito-val turnéznak, arra, hogy na ezek aztán jól egymásra találtak.

A lipcsei Don Vito másodízben látogat Budapestre. Akik tavaly májusban látták őket a Vialka és a Magic Barbecue társaságában egy hasonló szeánszon, megnyugodhatnak, nem mentek át indi rockba, vagy pop punkba. Sőt új lemezükön (ami az OvO- s Bruno kiadójánál a Bar La Muerte- nén jött ki) fokozták a tempót, az egy számra eső témák számát, és felezték a számok hosszát ( az albumon egy dal haladja meg a két percet. Kilenc másodpercel!!!) Kedvenc meghatározásom velük kapcsolatban: JAZZCORE WITHOUT JAZZ Tény, hogy nem fukarkodnak az ötletekkel és nemigen ismételnek egy témát háromnál többször. Mindenesetre Lightning Bolt, Ruins és minden komplex, hiperaktív zene iránt érdeklődő nem csalódhat bennük az fix! Koncerten különösen jók, ehhez hozzájárul például az a 89 koncert (megszámoltam! ebből 17 Kínában !!!) amit a 2009 -es évben teljesítettek. Öt kiadványuk jelent meg, a legutolsó idén nyáron.
Ja, és természetesen minden totál duitjorszelf, koncertszervezés, lemezkiadás, borító/plakát szitázás, minden. Hopp! Most látom 27. én Bécsben a Melt Banana- val játszanak.
