Új Reverend Beat-Man album. Már a hetedik!!! Én mindig úgy vagyok vele mikor meghallgatom az éppen új Rev. Beat-Man lemezt, hogy teljes komolysággal kijelentem -Eddig ez a legjobb!
A tisztelendő úr egy hétre felvonult új zenésztársaival az Alpok hegyei közé és közösen felvették a dalokat, melyek közül néhány még a covid-lezárások alatt íródott, néhány pedig más formában ugyan, de megjelent már előző lemezein. Például egyik legismertebb dalának a ‘Jesus Christ Twist’-nek most a Doom-Blues változata hallható.
A lemez egy vidám, country-s, szerelmes dalocskával kezdődik, címe egyszerűen ‘I Want To Fuck You Baby’. A második a kedvencem: ‘Slave To The Phone‘ a címe és a mai ember és a technológia kapcsolatáról mond igen sommás véleményt:

A ”Shut Up’ is egy kurvajó dal, jó sok szintivel és erős Suicide vibe-al. Végül is felesleges minden számhoz írni valamit, mind nagyszerű a maga nemében. Ennek az egész Reverend Beat-Man univerzumnak van egy sajátos hangulata, ami szerintem sokkal több embert be tudna vonzani, ha hallottak volna róla egyáltalán. Komolyan úgy gondolom, hogy egy ötvenes irodista ugyanúgy rá tudna csavarodni, mint egy 19 éves punk, vagy egy harmincas kismama. Olyan 15 éve történt, hogy valamiért belehallgattam a Petőfi Rádióba kíváncsiságból és Rev. Beat-Mantől leadták a ‘One Fine Day‘ című számot. Nem hittem a fülemnek! Ki is nyomoztam ki játszotta le -Dj Titusz volt az.

Bang Bang Band Girl – 12 Super Duper Extraordinary Girl Trouble Rock’n’Roll Tracks (Voodoo Rhythm Records) 2023

Hogy lehet ennyire izgalmas és friss egy lemez aminek tizenkét dalából tíz feldolgozás?! Ráadásul sokat hallott / játszott számok ezek többnyire az ötvenes/hatvanas évekből. The Troggs (Wild Thing), Hasil Adkins (No More Hot Dogs), Nancy Sinatra (Bang Bang), Elvis Presley (Heartbreak Hotel). Van pár punk szám is: The Heartbreakers (All By My Self), The Cramps (Call Of The Wighat) és egy korai Motörhead, a The Watcher.
Az előadó Sheril Corleone, egy chilei születésű, ma Rotterdamban élő lány, egy One-Lady Band, ha úgy tetszik. Az összes felvétel vibrál az elektromosságtól, szét van fuzz-pedálozva, reverb is van bőven plusz teremin is bejátszik gyakran. Szóval a hangzás szuper, a jó dalok adottak és ehhez jön Sheril páratlanul jó és sokszínű hangja és előadásmódja. Úgyhogy azt hiszem meg is van a válasz a kérdésre, hogy: Hogy lehet ennyire izgalmas és friss egy lemez aminek tizenkét dalából tíz feldolgozás?! Hát így.

Bad Mojos – Songs That Make Wanna Die! (Voodoo Rhythm Records) 2022

Tizenhét szám félóra alatt. Gondolhatod, hogy nem progresszív rockot kapsz ettől a három fiatal svájci sráctól. Hát kurvára nem! Tekerős, gyors, de fogós punk rock ez. Kevésbé egyértelműen a The Spits nyomdokain, mint az előző 2018-as ‘I Hope you O.D.’ nagylemez (szintén Voodoo Rhythm Records kiadvány). Csöpög belőle a negatív, mindenbe beleszaró életérzés, de azt, hogy dühös lenne nem mondanám. Még ahhoz is nihilista, hogy dühös legyen. Erre a lemezre és az előzőre is hatványozottan igaz, hogy kurvahangosan és faszán besörözve érdemes hallgatni, akkor könnyű ráfeküdni a zene sodrására. Az előző album megvan cd-n, úgyhogy számtalanszor hallgattam ennek megfelelő feltételek mellett az autóban, az anyósülésen ülve. Saját örömömre, imádott feleségem…fogalmazzunk úgy nem olyan nagy örömére.
Ramones / The Spits fanoknak melegen ajánlott, ha kicsit hallgatnának azért valami mást, de nem óhajtanak nagyon távol kerülni attól, ami már egyszer bevált.

The female organ is Jackie from Swiss garage punk band The Jackets (Voodoo Rhythm Records); the male one is Bone from Dutch punk rock and roll band The Anomalys (Slovenly Records).

Strange but they have come a Hungarian poet to my mind.

Peter Kuczka (1923-99) was a true-hearted communist. He wrote about Stalin that „There is nothing in this world without him”, and when the Bulgarian communist hero died, he wrote that „comrade Dimitrov is dead, but don’t cry”, „the life is beautiful” because

and who has been lived alone so far
is clamped by the Party.

the Party knows more than them.

In 1953 he took part in a countryside tour of writers. Then he saw the horror of reality, and so deeply disappointed in the ideology’s practice and practitioners that became a forbidden writer for many years. Finally he fled to the space and became the founder of the Hungarian Sci-fi literature.

One of his late poems is „We are just sex organs”

TWINS (US, Atlanta, Georgia) is Matt Weiner who is also known for his Featureless Ghost project and of course as the head of the DKA Records label… it’s a classic minimal elektro record but at the same time a rather modern piece of electronic music…RATHER NOT 12″ MINI LP

Zarkoff together with Ikonal from Croatia… these three tracks are from one of the infamous synth jams Zarkoff is organizing in an empty factory near Sisak in Croatia… the acid tracks featured on this EP have a throbbing beat with a clear hint to EBM… and the acid lines are both psychedelic and dark… TOXICOLOGY 12″EP

Antlers Mulm from Leipzig, Germany… recommended to fans of New Order but also of Solitude FX… melancholy, dreamy and catchy… GIVE AND TAKE 7″

HOW TO GET IDEAS it is a new EP by avant-rockers of QUI. The band has been formed in LA in 2000 as a duo, but after some guest appereances David Yow decided to join them as a singer in 2006. This period lasted until 2013, when Yow left the band because of his reunions with his bands Jesus Lizard and Scratch Acid, and his solo album, and his exhibitions, so finally there no left enough time for Qui, so he has become a part-time collaborator. But not on this EP. Now you must settle for Dale Crover of Melvins on vocals and percussion. Anyway he is the co-producder of the EP which is out now on Dutch label Geertruida. Enfant Terrible is a Dutch record label for electronic music. It has been founded in 2004 in Amsterdam. Besides new performers it also publish underground electro bands from the 80s. One of his sublabels for the danceable music is Gooiland Elektro. Noblesse Oblige is the upcoming album under this label. It’s a perfectly edited compilation with 6 different artists.

LCN and Osty are totally unknown for me and impossible to find them on the net. Anyway LCN is minimal, Osty is trance. Monocorpse from Holland is occult, ritual, monotone and primitive. I take it that the song Robert and Caroline is about a serial killer and his victim. Profligate (pronounced prof-la-git) from Philadelphia is retrospective rave wave. It’s Noah Anthony’s solo project. His highly entertaining band is Form A Log with three men who make music with 4-track cassette players. Future Blondes from Sehol, Texas are tribal industrial. Besides their acid pop tracks there are tiresome noise streams too. It’s a free form band of Domokos, performing member of Helios Creed/Chrome, Black Leather Jesus, Indian Jewelry, and drummer of punk band Rusted Shut, „one of the greatest Texas bands in the history of the universe” by Monofonus Press. Neugeborene Nachtmusik from Berlin is black. He said about his songs: battlefields just after the battle, but the song Yoshiwara (about Tokyo’s red light district) comes the Chemical Bros to my mind. And you can find easy cold dark danceable melodies on his brand new 7″ single which will be released soon by Petit Enfant, another sublabel of ET.

The last song is performed by Bas Welling, aka Former Descent. The Dutch musician is known as IDM, breakcore, 8-bit electro and African percussions artist. Under the pseudonym Neurobit he makes ambient droning a la Beequeen. It’s perfect background noise for your daily activity, for example to write a post to RNR666.

Brunnen is a Dutch minimal psych folk project of Freek Kinkelaar from the very experimental pop band Beequeen. It’s sounding a bit like a lo-fi Legendary Pink Dots. He is a modern day acid troubadour telling small stories accompanied by minimal instrumentation

„I have been active in the experimental music scene since 1984, when I first started recording my battered homemade electric guitar, plugged in my 1940s tube radio system, which had been a precious gift from my grandparents. The resulting tapes featured a lot of abstract and loud noise, which I loved but the neighbours hated. (…) In the winter of 1988 long time friend Edward Kaspel of The Legendary Pink Dots asked me to fill in as support act for a live Pink Dots performance in January 1989. Since I didn’t have a clue what to do, I contacted Frans de Waard (whom I had met a few years previously) and together we formed Beequeen. This collaboration was initially based upon our mutual admiration of the ideas of German conceptual artist Joseph Beuys.”

Two German experimental projects in one: Baldruin + Brannten Schnüre = Diamantaner Oberhof. Subtle electronic sounds are mixed with snippets of accordion melodies, even though this is contemporary folk music it sounds very pure and authentic, like obscure lo-fi field recordings, bringing to mind some of the better Fonal recordings from the past (think Kemialliset Ystävät, Paavoharju and Islaja) or a more folklore minded Kaa Antilope, this is a sort of new primitivism and nothing less as in between archaic-electronic-ambient-folk-Dada-pop music
