„We are the soundtrack to the rainbow of human emotions”
Two young Slovenian keyboard enthusiasts produce great electro-industrial-noise-core-metal with only two keyboards and some samples. I have invited them to play at RNR666 Party and made this very short IT’S EVERYONE ELSE interview.
RNR666 – I think it’s not your first band. What were there before?
Luci – Pika (the female part of IEE) was a singer in a few bands during her high school years but she never found the right people to complete her musical visions. I myself had a little noise project going on, but for the both of us the first „serious” band was (and still is) IT’S EVERYONE ELSE. We played our first gig under the name „Hold Your Horses” but as soon as we found our sound, we changed the name to IT’S EVERYONE ELSE, because we thought it was more appropriate.
How IT’S EVERYONE ELSE started?
– It started after we exchanged some demos and realized that our ideas are pretty compatible. We started rehearsing and we just clicked. A few months later we player our first concert and after that we just kept going and going.
What are your inspirations?
– Our biggest inspiration is life itself. Don’t get me wrong, we enjoy a lot of music, movies, books, paintings etc. and we get a lot of ideas out of that, but there is nothing as inspiring as people, emotions and social interactions. We are the soundtrack to the rainbow of human emotions.

Can you play other instruments beside keyboards?
– We have no formal music education and we can barely play keyboards:) We don’t really care about notes, scales or chords, we just play what sounds good to our ears. I think we developed our own way of playing synths, which is much more similar to playing riffs on a guitar rather than playing piano in the traditional sense.

Poor Man’s Ministry
I think I’m a very lucky man because I have knowledge of the electro-hardcore-punk Tit Wrench since the early 90s. I put them beside the Ministry, but the Tit Wrench is standing nearer my heart. They split up in the late 90s.
The reunite was great news, and the new songs… are amazing. So I have decided to do an interview. The story started in the late 80s in Chula Vista (near San Diego), California.
OK MFs! This is Tit Wrench Country
Bob: Tit Wrench started as a solo project for me as Neighborhood Watch was ending. I was asked to do a song for the Amity Records comp. „Beautiful Music for Beautiful People„. It took a few months of learning the Yamaha TX16W sampler and the Roland R8 drum machine and finally recorded the song „People Like that Should be Spayed”. I spent a lot of time with Mike Down from Amenity/Forced Down [hardcore bands – editor’s note] sampling guitar riffs. „Spayed” was recorded a few days before Christmas and mixed on Christmas Eve, 1989. Released in early 1990. Shortly thereafter „Go Back to Europe” and „Pit Bull with AIDS” was recorded and released as a 7″. „Go Back to Europe” was a comment on border relations as we are located just a few miles from Tijuana Mexico. Tim Gonzales from Amenity had some sampled guitar riffs for Pit Bull. Artist Michael Schnoor had some nice field recordings of light up the border idiots and my friend Rosebud did a few backup vocals. A few others had bit parts as well but the „band” was mainly me and Mike at that point.
Burger 4 What
When I met the Burger first? I don’t remember, but the first cover that is in my mind this:
and it was released in 2008. So since then they’re inescapable factors of rock and roll for me. Maybe, not, sure that the Burger is the most-often written name among the record labels on this site. It’s thanks to their hyperactive record release practice: around 650 titles/6 years, and their bands: Natural Child, Davila 666, John Wesley Coleman, Mikal Cronin, Ty Segall, Jacuzzi Boys, Black Lips, Bare Wires, Cosmonauts, Gap Dream, Grass Widow, Hunx & His Punx, Shannon & The Clams, King Khan, King Louie, King Tuff, Nobunny, Warm Soda and many more DIY music in almost every style: garage, psychedelic, surf, glam and hard rock, punk, hardcore and metal, bedroom, power and synth pop, country and blues. The big output is thanks to their cassettes, because the Burger is the most significant cassette publisher in the Western world. (I think that the biggest cassette publishers are in China and India.) They have a important role in the cassette revival of recent years.
RNR666 – What was the cause of start of the label?
Sean – We started in 2007 to release our own band, Thee Makeout Party!, on vinyl!
What was the greatest success?
Surviving for 6 years!
What was the greatest surprise in the course of label’s story?
That we actually are doing well with our creation!

BOB LOG III – The Budapest interview
Get drunk almost every night, work for Mindfuck Office Ltd. and listen to Grown Younger by Sexdrome all day long: Ladies and gents, cats and dogs, the Negative Creep is born. What’s cookin’ for the night? A one man band show, a genre, I seriously don’t like. Doesn’t really sound like a great night, but hey, I really wanted to test the guy and myself.
The first thing you should forget about Bob Log the III, is youtube videos. It is nothing compared to what you are about to see live. Shows like these are usually about clothes and jokes. Bob is much more. He plays his guitar like it’s last day on mother Earth, constantly leaving your jaws drop. Humour is an important part in music for me, Bob gets a 100 out of the possible 10. No, let’s make that thousand. Songs were cool, but I was waiting for the breaks between songs. I’m sure, the audience weren’t prepared for this show and I know why. You simply can not stare, dance, laugh, kiss and fell in love one at a time. Bob Log doesn’t need a knife to make you a Glasgow smile for the night, he does it with an amazing stage show and personality. This night, the Negative Creep died and the Happy Puppy was born. Thank you Bob Log the III!

Sieur et Dame are a French band. They have made one of the best albums of this year. Their music is very special, difficult to define it. In one word: burlesque. In more: here a review about it. They originally were a duo, but recently joined a third member, Jonathan, who recorded and mixed their second album. 3 very simple questions about records >>
What was the first own record in your life? Please write some words about it!
Etienne: „Killers” from Iron Maiden, a great record that I still uphold.
Claire: „History” from Michael Jackson. I was a great fan. There was everything on it. (It’s a double album. Second part.)
Jonathan: „Schizophrenia” from Sepultura that I had on CD with my first sort of ghetto blaster.
What record made the biggest influence on you?
Etienne: „Let in the Light” from Shannon Wright. (She is an American singer-songwriter.)
Claire: „Mahler’s Symphony n°2” directed by Wilhelm Furtwängler. (Sorry, but I couldn’t find it from Furtwängler. It’s conducted by Claudio Abbado.)
Jonathan: „In Utero” from Nirvana.
What was the last record that you heard?
Etienne: „420m3 – 37’14” from Chausse Trappe.
Claire: „1st Ep” from Le Feu. (It’s Jonathan’s band)

Interview with Bobby Kill from TV Colours
TV Colours started as a solo project of Bobby Kill from the Australian punk scene around Dream Damage Records and we have written about this awesome scene many times before, so we asked Bobby some simple questions and he kindly took the time to answer them while already being on tour in Europe.

„So good to be on the road with friends”
An interview with Susi, the bass player of German noise rock trio, Don Vito about music, travelling and friendship
What was the music milieu like around you in Leipzig when you grew up? Who made the most significant impression on you in this period?
Well, we live in Leipzig since 2001. We all grew up in different cities around Magdeburg, a city 140 km north of Leipzig. That’s why it’s a bit hard to answer your question. Our guitar player used to listen to Hardcore when he was young, the drummer was a pure Punk and my own taste was chameleonic. During these years there were so many things, who influenced us, not only the music we liked/like and the bands we’ve in before, also the life itself, books, political circumstances, weather, family, friends, world… But I think the Fall of the Wall was the most significant impression in our youth.
How your music taste was being shaped by each other during the years?
As we know each other for decades it was a natural growing process. Someone came up with something new, the other liked it (or not) from the first moment, later or never ;). When you have 3 open-minded persons with different tastes of music, the individual taste grows a lot.

Mr. Elevator & The Brain Hotel
– What was the first own record in your life?
WB: I remember this like it was yesterday… I heard this band in the 90’s when I was about maybe eight or nine years old called Goldfinger, and they had this record called “Hang-Ups” and I bugged the shit out of my dad to take me to Warehouse Records to buy the CD. So I FINALLY saved up the money to buy it, and my dad took me and I bought it! It was the greatest feeling ever and was the first record I ever bought with my own money. I still have the original copy and listen to it in my car!
– What record made the biggest influence on you?
Ignacio: Yellow Submarine. The song „Hey Bulldog„, definitely a game changer.
– What was the last record that you heard?
Tomas: I just stumbled upon a bargain record find of this album called „Smash your head against the wall” by John Entwisle. AMAZING. It’s this early 70s heavy psych record that throughout the album slowly swindles down from its heavy beginning and eventually to the last song which cuts to a nightmarish chant of Rudolph The Rednose Reindeer. It’s righteous.

The Bloody Hollies
is a rock’n’roll band from San Diego, California. During their European tour they will make a show in Budapest at RNR666 Party soon. It’s a good occasion for a short interview with the founder Wesley Doyle.
I think you have some garage rock impressions, but The Bloody Hollies play simple rock. What’s your opinion about the recent garage rock wave? What kind of bands do you listen at present?
There was a lot of good stuff that came out over the past 10 years. I really only liked stuff that I thought was original though. And originality and „garage rock” don’t really seem to mix a lot these days. I’m still a really big fan of the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. They were one of the bands that made me want to start my own. I listen to DEVO, Led Zeppelin, Gary Numan, AC/DC, Queen, probably the most. But I listen to a lot of hip hop. Everyone in the band still listens to Notorious B.I.G.
Originally you are come from Buffalo, but some years ago you moved to San Diego. Maybe it’s the most remote city from Buffalo within US. Why San Diego?
I used to be in the Marine Corps and used to come out here a bunch when friends of mine were stationed here. So it wasn’t really that foreign of a city to me. I always liked it here and it was kind of a natural transition. Plus I can’t complain about the weather.
How can you find the new band mates after the move?
It was really easy; I think I replied to an ad online by Joey looking to jam with someone. Originally I just wanted Joey to come to SXSW with the existing band and be a 2nd guitar player. Eventually it just kind of worked out and we ended up replacing Mike Argento with Matt Bennett. I consider myself pretty lucky to have been able to find them so easily
In the 90s in San Diego was an independent record label, the Vinyl Communication. It released the records of Tit Wrench for example. Do you know them?
I don’t know them. There are a few record labels out here including Swami Records which is run by Jon Reis who is the singer from Rocket From The Crypt. San Diego is known for really nice weather, beaches, tourism, etc, but you’d be surprised that there are actually a ton of pretty cool rock n roll bands.

Hey, thanks man! The style? I guess if you combined a lot of hair, burritos, and bad jokes all at once in a weird magical spell it’d come out being somewhat of something like us….
You make many kinds of music like garage-psych-glam-pop-punk-rock in other bands as Feeding People, Cosmonauts*, Peach Kelli Pop, etc. How came the idea of the new style and band?
Mr. Elevator, like Moses, was a calling to us from a burning bush. A female’s burning bush.
Your music reminds me of The Doors and the Silver Apples (are an American pioneer psychedelic synth-drums duo. The group was active between 1967 and 1969. Reformed in 1996. – editor’s note), but sometimes the Madness come to my mind too. What is your opinion?
All great bands man. There are very few bands that really gave light to what an organ or just piano related instruments can do and sound like. Ray did a very fine job though.. RIP (e.n: Ray Manzarek was the organ player of The Doors. He passed away on May 20.)
Your name is very strange LSD-flavored. Were there some other alternatives?
We started actually as an all water zodiac signed jam band called Tropical Fish. Played a handful of shows with that name and a very obscure set of songs hahah but the name is actually a reference to a Donovan song. The ultimate musical mystic!
Your brilliant 1st LP is coming soon or…?
Soon! We’re re-recording what we just worked on the past few months because it just didn’t come out how we envisioned it. We have so many songs and not one album yet.. so expect a little something soon
