A kiadón belül hangulatában a Dead Brothers-hez hasonlít leginkább. Groteszk, Blues-os, érdekes, részeg kóválygás.
A lemez címe nagyon találó: ‘Sötét világ’. Sötét, mint titokzatos és vonzó, de nem rémisztő vagy gonosz.

How To Disappear Completely

Portuguese blues passionate THE LEGENDARY TIGERMAN began a solo career in 2000. He plays with the clichés of rocker macho, fascinated by the 50’s aesthetics

His 6th album MISFIT was inspired by Dave Richmond’s book How To Disappear Completely and Never Be Found. He imagined the journey of a man called Misfit who wanted to lose himself in the desert and actually become nothing. Therefore, in May 2016, The Legendary Tigerman i.e. PaoloFurtado and his image crew headed to Los Angeles and film a psychedelic adventure in the form of a road movie between Los Angeles and Death Valley, about the philosophically disturbed journey of a man searching to become nothing.

There Furtado spent his days writing the diaries of this imaginary man, acting, while at night, in motel rooms across the California deserts, armed with a Gibson SG. The album was recorded in Joshua Tree, in the heart of the Mojave Desert.

„We lived the slow desert life, between the studio, the Joshua Tree Saloon, and the Pappy and Harriets, a pub in Pioneer Town, where we went to enjoy some live music. While Dave cooked some amazing Louisiana and Tex-Mex dishes for dinner, fueled with red wine, Modelo beer and Tequila, we recorded the songs in live takes, and then built the wall of sound with overdubs.”

But we now go to Japan. The clip “Motorcycle Boy” is equal parts documentary and music video. Offers a raw glimpse into the slowly vanishing culture of Bōsōzoku – the motorcycle gangs that once ruled the roads of Japan back in the 90’s:

Mana, Kana, Yuna and Yuuki

CHAI is 4 Japanese girls: Mana, Kana, Yuna and Yuuki. They say Tom Tom Club, Basement Jaxx, Gorillaz, Cansei de Ser Sexy and Marvin Gaye as their influences. I add Devo and Gary Numan to them. This song about the world where the pretty face and cute shape are far more important than the personality:

I got a right to say FUCK YOU!!!

“I got a right to say FUCK YOU!!!” is how the new album from guitarist Marc Ribot’s trio Ceramic Dog starts off, with Ribot howling in anger at corruption, tyranny, life in general, and nothing in particular. YRU Still Here? just in time to remind us that now is a moment when anger is necessary and unavoidable. Musically it continues the lineage of his earlier experimental no-wave/punk/noise groups Rootless Cosmopolitans and Shrek:

Beside Ribot you can find Shahzad Ismaily (Secret Chiefs 3, Will Oldham, Ben Frost) on bass and drummer Ches Smith (Xiu Xiu, Secret Chiefs 3, Trevor Dunn’s Trio Convulsant).

And Ribot? For me he is known about his works with John Zorn, The Lounge Lizard and Tom Waits, but he played together such musicians as Solomon Burke, Beth Orton, Marianne Faithful, Caetano Veloso, Laurie Anderson, Cibo Matto, Vinicio Capposella, Auktyon (Russia), Alain Bashung, Madeleine Peyroux, Sam Phillips, Norah Jones, The Black Keys, Robert Plant, Elvis Costello and many others. And of course he has released lots of album under his own name. He has also worked for decades as a tenant union and artist rights activist, where he mastered the agit-prop skills used to such dazzling effect on hits such as “Fuck La Migra” and “Muslim/Jewish Resistance”.

The albumYRU Still Here?will release soon on Northern-Spy (US), Yellowbird (Europe) and P-Vine Records (Japan). It’s my favorite album since I’ve got it.

Music: „Fire Starter” by TEXACO LEATHERMAN

„Some acts have bummed around with Daddy-O for nearly 30 years. They’re not getting signed to a major label anytime soon. Why keep at it? The director Mario Cuzik thinks it’s the creative element.

“When art is your job you lose freedom. I don’t see people chasing fame. They value freedom, even if it means working a second job. They don’t need a producer telling them how to make sales and grow a fan base.”

„I’m a 1 percenter and I hate the other 99 percent,” 57-year-old concert promoter Daddy-O-Nov says with a laugh. He works as an assistant plumber installing combination bathrooms to finance his events and record label, Radio Underground Records, that specializes in undiscovered acts.”

Fucker, Friends & Family

Fucker is a Japanese musician, the founder of Less Than TV, an outsider record label, which tends to be even more outsider than usual. He plays weird folk punk alone, and as a member of Folk Shock Fuckers with his wife Blue Yukari from all-girls ni-hao! („just like Melt-Banana with Cibo Matto with Boredoms with Takako Minekawa with OOIOO with Omoide Hatoba”) on bass, and Takeda Kazunaga, who plays on Cajon, a Peruvian box shaped percussion instrument.

First song from Fucker debut album, will released on 20 April, second one (In My Riffle) from Folk Shock Fuckers debut from 2014, it has been re-released now by Aussie label Tenzenmen. Listen to the full album
