And of course Antonio Bertoni is not a simple bass player because he is a double bass player. And also the record label Boring Machines is not simple one.

The label Boring Machines celebrate its 10th birthday this year. The anniversary album is released on LP in only ten copies. Original unreleased music, not available elsewhere. Swing Cremona is the fifth LP from Pierre Omer, but the first from Voodoo, even though their relation to Beat-Man is very old – from the seven LPs of The Dead Brothers (Swiss ‘funeral’ Rock n’roll) six were released by Voodoo, and members also regularly play at Reverend Beat-Man albums.

As the name of the band already suggests, this is a swing album, their own compositions, couple covers (Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Irving Berlin) and also the swinged version of ‘Miserlou’ familiar to many from Pulp Fiction. And I bet there is also one cover that RNR666’s favorite little toothless sonofabitch, Jerry Dammers (of the Specials) also played already.

I can again say this is a very good record, and not just for grandfathers! I consider myself an honest punkrock’n roller who also fancies death metal, and I still like it! Needless to say this stuff is light years from the pseudo-swing / old-timer crap that is so popular now in Hungary.

The mad professor-like character is the noxious communist vampire, Bela Lugosi, who evicted mayor of Budapest under the dictatorship of the proletariat in 1919 >>>

„Bülbüls are a family of medium sized songbirds. In general they are resistant to human pressures on the environment and are tolerant of disturbed habitat. The song of the Bulbul is described as „the most unattractive noises made by any bird”.

BULBUL started as a one-man band in Wels, Upper-Austria, when Raumschiff Engelmayr, outfitted with guitar, drumcomputer and vacuum cleaner released a CD with a 600g handmade steelcover and began playing concerts disguised as space-indian. Then a bassplayer and two jazz reeds joined, then reeds quit, and a drummer has come. One of the most interesting bands in Austria.

Luke Winslow King plays with his band a mix of old, but maybe eternal American tunes: ragtime, country, blues, gospel, dixie, bluegrass, jazz, rock and roll with minimal and occasionally brass band orchestration.

Israel has been at war almost constantly since its foundation. The peace is very temporary and miraculous state in that region. The short peacetime are hot spiced with terrorist attacks. In 1991, on the occasion of Gulf War, Iraq launched 42 missiles to Israel, albeit it was not among the belligerents.
