Prophet and provocateur IAN SVENONIUS, the writer of books THE PSYCHIC SOVIET and CENSORSHIP NOW!!, who runs the cynic rock and roll band CHAIN & THE GANG,
in 1990 he was chosen „the most perfect boyfriend material” and got the title „SASSIEST BOY OF AMERICA” by teen girl mag Sassy, next year his Washington DC hc-punk band THE NATION OF ULYSSES released its debut album 13-POINT PROGRAM TO DESTROY AMERICA.
Later he tried to flee marketing culture with his psychedelic gospel group THE MAKE-UP. During their way they were hunted by mysterious government agencies as you can watch it in their film Blue Is Beautiful.
Now this sassiest boy introduces you to the art of ESCAPE-ISM with his brand new poetic one-man rock and roll show and album. This full show was shot in the Hungarian town Szeged this summer at JAZZ KOCSMA somewhere around Mullholland Drive

„I wasn’t always a model citizen, but I always played music.” – Dan McGee

Spider Bags is a rock’n’roll band. It’s got a bit of a country and two bit of blues influence. The main figure, the songwriter Dan McGee started playing guitar when he was really little because of Blind Lemon Jefferson (blues musician, 1893-1929). His favourite songwriters are three delta blues musician: Skip James (1902-69), Robert Johnson (1911-38), Tommy Johnson (1896-1956) and Lou Red. He don’t have any kind of training, and didn’t really even start playing shows for a long time, until he was in his late twenties, then his band has become a favorite of the garage rock scene. The forth album will be released soon, and I’m very curious because he „wanted to make a record that sounded like a classic rock record, that was mixed like the old AC/DC records, or like Dark Side Of The Moon.”

The Ruins was founded as a trio in 1985, but the guitarist never arrived, so started as a prog-rock drum and bass duo. During the years there were 4 bassists, the last one quit in 2004, since then the drummer, Tatsuya Yoshida is working as Ruins Alone. By the way he is also playing in the noise metal Zeni Geva, in the free jazz grind PainKiller with John Zorn and Bill Laswell, and in the prog-psych-space rock Acid Mothers Temple beside his many collaborations. One of these is the Sax Ruins with the saxophone player, flautist (and sculptor) Ryoko Ono, who participates in jazz, rock, funk, rhythm & blues and hiphop bands beside her own progressive-impro-rock band, ryorchestra.

here is the full new album of the Berlin resident notorious Canadian garage rocker King Khan and his big band The Shrines. But first some words about his previous things.

His infamous garage rock band was The Spaceshits between 1995-99. It was well known for their violent stage shows. Their sets lasted no longer than 10 to 15 minutes because the band or members of the audience would create disturbances, including fireworks or food fights. The band’s shows would lead them to be effectively blacklisted from many venues in Montreal. During the European tour King Khan has decided to remain in Berlin, hereby the Spaceshits disbanded. In same year he has formed his garage rock psychedelic soul outfit The King Khan & The Shrines. The band’s percussionist, Ron Streeter formerly played for Ike and Tina Turner, Bo Diddley, Curtis Mayfield, Stevie Wonder, Al Jarreau. The organist is Fredovitch, the French multi-instrumentalist.

“Here’s 3 ugly lookin blokes, tourin’ the world, playin at all these wonderful cities, dining at all these wonderful restaurants, meeting all these famous people. In the back of ya head I’m thinking to myself ‘Im a fuckin’ farmer!” – one of the members of Cosmic Psychos said.* The old Aussie punk rock band formed in 1982, and over some line-up change and an untimely death by heart attack they still rock on. Their music is garage punk hard rock’n’roll like Motörhead, Stooges or Ramones. Strange though it may appear they had a significant influence on the Seattle Sound in the 90s through their some fans: Kurt Cobain, Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), Buzz Osbourne (The Melvins) or Donita Sparks (L7). Now the Goner and the Aussie Aargth Records re-release their first three albums.1st track from 1987, 2nd & 3rd from 1989.
*I Love My Tractor – is the title of their latest and live album (2013)

Teresa Maldonado is a Texan singer/songwriter. „Drawing influences from her perennial favourites the darkly gothic Bauhaus, as well as Natacha Atlas’ exotic Mish Maoul, the black metal of Venom.” The songs were composed on her much loved piano which was tuning last time in 1992. She plays eclectic haunted folk under Georgia’s Horse moniker.

I didn’t wait very hard garage rock from Mikal Cronin (Charlie and The Moonheart, Epsilons, Party Fowl, Okie Dokie, Ty Segall), but in the first minutes I was surprised. Sha-la-la guitar pop. But I looked up suddenly several times during the listening – Hey, it’s good! And I listened it three times.
