Here you can listen the final and previously unreleased song from Nyírmada-based Hungarian instrumental metal band, Steam Engine.
Fun fact is that although technically this is their last record (ICYMI: they disbanded in 2013), the main theme was written among their first ones back in the 2006/07 era. It’s also worth to mention that Steam Engine was the sole metal band ever played at an rnr666 show.”
The song and their all albums are free from here
You can read the background story here (it’s Hungarian though, but feel free to google translate it, which is always a funny way)

The new album „Evil Moods” lyrically was inspired by hard-boiled noir fictions, e.g. works of Dashiell Hammett, James M. Cain and Jim Thompson, of whom a song there is. Released by Voodoo Rhythm Records (Switzerland)

The next metal LP by American avant-garde experimental label Thrill Jockey Record is a split of The Body and Sandworm. The Body, „masters of expansive expressions of pure sadness”, really heavy and industrial metal. Sandworm is just a simple black metal punk band

will published by Svart Records (Finland). It’s in English.
„I craved life metal. Heavy metal for life. And “heavy”, for all you smart alecks out there, is not a prefix. Heavy metal is not even a genre. Heavy metal is a realm. Swear the oath. The Force is heavy metal. Mental Funeral is heavy metal. A Blaze in the Northern Sky is heavy metal. If it doesn’t work as heavy metal, it’s fucked, it fails, full stop.”
e.g. the Swiss Coroner in East-Berlin in 1990
ps: there’s no word Isten in the Finnish language, so they took a Hungarian dictionary, and seek out the equivalent of Jumala (God).

from the album Abisso
“The anarcho-punk (The Ex, Dog Faced Hermans, Rhythm Activism) made an important impact on us, but we don’t belong any movements. Although our lifestyle is perfect anarchism. We haven’t workplace, travelling around the world, working together with people who have values identical with ours, doing own label, etc. We can try to live by our own ideas, it requires much discipline, I think it’s an important trick of the anarchism.”

THE SKULL is a new band featuring original members Eric Wagner (vocals) and Jeff Olson (drums) of TROUBLE alongside longtime TROUBLE bassist Ron Holzner, guitarist Lothar Keller (SACRED DAWN) and former PENTAGRAM guitarist Matt Goldsborough. There is a song on the new album „Aggressive Crucifixion.” It comes to light that 3 kind of crucifixion are/were existing at least: tender, ordinary and aggressive. And in all probability there are/were some sub-categories too.

Scrabbled is a music collective in Brisbane (Aus) with members from Clag, Per Purpose and many more. They are play real pop music. You can find just hits with catchy refrains on their album. But these tracks are too human, so aren’t good for radio stations. On the other hand it’s real punk music. Free, noisy and foul-mouthed, but too free for punks. „Urban folk” is also a good phrase for their music, it as if would be played by a common project of Velvet Underground and Mad Nanna. The latter is also a cult band.

There were lots of fanzine in Hungary in the late 80s and 90s. In our new series we cut album reviews out from these.

Straight Edge came from Győr. It was a relatively long-lived fanzine in the 90s. Its last issue(s?) was released together with Második Látás.

The Revco comes forward with more and more shameless, looser and better music from record to record. Of course with such a crew as that is working with Jourgensen… There are the big part of Ministry, Chris Connelly (Ministry, Murder Inc, Pigface), Louis Svitek (M.O.D. , Mindfunk, Pigface) Duane Denison (Jesus Lizard, Pigface, Tomahawk), Timothy Leary, etc. If Rod Stewart listened to his Do Ya Think I’m Sexy from Revco, then he surely made a mess under himself in his joy, or in his pain.
