Kitchen’s Floor – None Of That (Eternal Soundcheck Records / Pety Bunco ) 2022
A Pink Reason-ös Kevin által ismertem meg az ausztrál Kitchen’s Floor-t. Mondta-e vagy a fanzinjében olvastam már nem emlékszem, de tény, hogy ha a Kitchen’s Floor kerül elő mindig beugrik a Pink Reason is. Van is párhuzam a kettő között bőven. Keserűség, magány, lepusztulás, történetek a realitás és az abszurd határán, mégis sokszor kibaszott szép az egész. Meg nagyon személyes és kegyetlenül őszinte.
A Kitchen’s Floor-ban Matt Kennedy az egyetlen állandó tag, ő szerzi a dalokat és övé az egész koncepció. A koncepció fontos része az Ausztrál nagyváros Brisbane, annak is a külvárosa és egy bizonyos háza, amit Matt bérel majd’ 20 éve. A dzsentrifikáció miatt a környék drága lett, Matt háza az egyetlen, amit évtizedek óta nem újítottak fel, le is van lakva rendesen, ráadásul sok-sok házi koncert helyszíne is volt az évek során.. Az előző három nagylemezhez készült videoklipek is itt, a 116-os házban készültek: >> ‘ Left ‘ << , >> ‘116‘ << , >> ‘Bitter Defeat‘ << és az új lemez borítóján is a hátsó kert látható.
Az eddigi négy album közül ez a legsúlyosabb, mondhatnánk rá sludge-punk. Lassú, rövid, zajos dalok, de mindnek saját hangulata, karaktere van és kurvára nem válnak unalmassá a sokadik hallgatás után sem. Én például jól ráfüggtem a lemezre. Van akusztikus dal ‘Expiry’, van slágeresebb ‘Northern Fort’, de ott a ‘Blood’ c. is amire egy Brainbombs-ot kedvelő is elégedetten bólinthat. Be is linkelem >> IDE << hogyan játsszák élőben.
Még egy dalt kiemelnék ‘Before Dawn’ és nem csak azért, mert nagyon tetszik, hanem mert itt Matt Kennedy ebben duettet énekel, méghozzá egy Kata Szász nevű, vélhetően magyar, vagy magyar származású lánnyal!

Black Button – Rejoice (saját kiadás) 2023
Na, ez igen! A Richmond-i Hc/Anarchopunk/noiserock csapat faszán belassult, de ugyanolyan zajos és dühös maradt, mint régebben és a kegyetlen társadalomkritika is megmaradt a szövegekben. Nekem olyan ez az új lemez, mintha a Jesus Lizard, a Laughing Hyenas, a Flipper zenéjét gyúrnánk össze és addig-addig gyúrogatnánk míg a végén valami No Wave szerűség nem lesz belőle. Mondjuk én el tudnék viselni egy szaxofont is itt-ott, csak, hogy még nagyobb legyen a káosz.
A Black Button két richmondi zenekar tagjaiból állt össze a szintipunk Teenage Cenobite-ból és a nagyonkurvafaszajó psy-noise-punk Slump-ból. Szerintem a ritmusszekció az utóbbiból jöhetett, ott volt olyan brutál a dob meg a basszus, mint most a Black Button-ban.
Ezt a Slump videót régebben napjában többször meghallgattam, nagyon odabasz. Ha feloszlottak, nagyon sajnálom… Január van, de szerintem az év végén is azt fogom mondani, hogy az év egyik legjobb lemeze.

„Szeretem elkapni a hullámot és ütni egy hatalmasat”
Nagyon kevés zenekar képes megérinteni. Kiváltani belőlem az üdvözültek mosolyát, és ezt a három szót: igen, ez AZ. Nem kell, hogy mestereik legyenek hangszereiknek, a lényeg, hogy legyen bennük az a kis plusz, ami nélkül legfeljebb közepes lehet bármi.
A JACKSON POLLOCK-kal véletlenül találkoztam. Unalmamban elmentem valami kis egy napos fesztiválra unatkozni, egészen addig a percig, míg színpadra nem léptek. Zenéjük első, sőt sokadik hallásra is, valami elbaszott nyers noise rock-szerűség. Viszont rengeteg mindent lehet felfedezni benne, és közben szemed le nem tudod venni Emilyről, a dobosról, és fogod mondani: Úristen, mit művel ez a nő!!!
És nem érted, miért pont egy absztrakt expresszionista festőről nevezték el magukat. Hát azért, mert Pollock pontosan úgy festett, ahogy Emily dobol, testének teljes erejével. És Pollock gyakran táncolt is festés közben, és ecset helyett pálcákat is használt. Képei első ránézésre olyanok, hogy naponta két ilyet festesz, miközben semmi gondod nem lenne az életben, ha egy eredeti lógna faladon. Ahogy a festő, úgy a róla elnevezett duó is megosztja a közönséget. A szigorú műítészek biztos borzadnának hallatán, de azért például az Obliviansnak megfeleltek bemelegítőnek olasz turnéjuk során. MÁRCIUS 11-ÉN BUDAPESTEN lépnek fel. Minek kapcsán feltettem pár kérdést, ami eszembe jutott:

Emily The Drunkard – Hát az úgy volt, hogy a dobos, aki megígérte, hogy próbál velünk, nem jött el. Ahogy várakoztunk, megpillantottam a szemetesben egy pár dobverőt. Kivettem, leültem a dobok mögé, játszani kezdtem és nagyon élveztem.
– Rengeteg dobost láttam már, de olyat, mint te, még soha. Amit dobolás címen művelsz, az rendkívüli. Milyen hatások formálták játékstílusod és kik a kedvenc dobosaid?
– Bruce Lee. Remek dobos válhatott volna belőle. Egyébként sosem tanultam dobolni, ez csak úgy jön belőlem. Szeretem elkapni a hullámot és ütni egy hatalmasat.
– Olyan erővel ütsz oda, hogy meg kell kérdeznem, mennyi bőrt és dobverőt használsz el évente?
– Bőrt nem sokat, dobverőt viszont rengeteget, azért is, mert általában a legolcsóbbat vásárlom.
– Hogyan születnek dalaitok?
– Gitár riffekből. Ezek általában a kanapén heverve születnek. Aztán lemegyünk a garázsba és a többit kitomboljuk magunkból.
– Sok mindent vélek felfedezni zenétekben, például kraut rockot vagy a hatvanas évek garázs rockját. Mi az igazság? Milyen zenék hatottak rátok, mi az, ami inspirál?
– A legjobb, amikor véletlen meghallunk egy dalt, ami elkap és magával ragad, ami száz százalékig személyes és kendőzetlenül őszinte. Akiket a legjobban szeretünk: Sonic Youth, No Age, CAN, Janis Joplin, Lighting Bolt, The Horrors (the garage band from US, not the emo guys!), Ramones, Le Belve, Zeus! A kedvenc dalom, amit a végtelenségig bírok hallgatni, az Abba Zaba Captain Beefhearttól. Na az mindent visz.
– Teljesen egyértelmű volt, hogy a zenekar neve nem lehet más, mint The Jackson Pollock?
– Kedves kérdés. Talán.

A koncert – ahol fellép még PIRESIAN BEACH – felejthetetlen élmény lesz: sötét, hipnotikus kezdés után, könnyed agyszétverés. Másnap frissen és vidáman ébredsz. Kivéve, ha nagyon berúgtál. De mindenképp hálát fogsz adni magadnak, hogy milyen jó, hogy ott voltál.

LAMONT THOMAS is maybe best known as the drummer of blues punk legend THE BASSHOLES, but he has started a very own project as OBNOX some years and eight albums before. „His approach to punk is well… punk as fuck. Thomas doesn’t care about rules and he certainly isn’t afraid to experiment, blending his sound with noise rock, hip-hop, garage, soul, and hardcore. It’s usually abrasive and often pretty steeped in political and social consciousness, he speaking as a voice for the oppressed without gimmick or pandering” – as Post-Trash Mag wrote about him and I just could write the same.
A few years ago Monofonus Press head Morgan Coy had that crazy idea…why not ask OBNOX to make a free jazz record? And he has made one. Morgan says about it: Although it may not directly sound like it, to these ears it’s an updated take on some of the late 70’s free jazz LP’s that, at the time, were panned by critics but now are being rediscovered… think Albert Ayler’s „New Grass”, Archie Shepp’s „Attica Blues,” Larry Young’s „Fuel”, even reminds me of Tony Williams Lifetime at times. OBNOX has infused „templo del sonido” with that same sense of urgency and protest. Like the 70’s, we are once again in a time of protest and discontent with the world around us – as Thomas so elegantly states in the first lyrics of the album:
„wake up… wake up… America… wake your punk ass up!”
Perhaps you are afraid of jazz, even more free jazz, but this album is so much punk than jazz. It needs your open mind only:

were the basic ideas of British punk band Mekons when it started, but before their first gig in a punk festival the organizer told them – Fast songs or there is no show for you. So they played on double speed. After the show a man went to them and said: – Hey you are really great, I would like to release a single. Later when NME wanted a picture they went to a field and somebody made some shots from miles. After reject they built figures from coat hangers and took photos of them. Finally a photographer was sent by the music mag to crown the failure.

For many years, LYDIA LUNCH has envisioned a collective dedicated to funeral arts. That seed was finally planted in 2012 when The Phantom Family Halo supported Lunch’s Retrovirus’ US tour. Lydia spotted Dahm of Phantom Family Halo wearing an undertaker jacket while performing in NYC. It has turned out that Dahm Majuri Cipolla, a descendant of Edgar Allen Poe, has been interested in undertaking and the funeral arts since a young boy. It is of no surprise that he spent his formative years inhabiting a funeral home in Louisville, KY where he fell in love with our in-house mortician, Sara Majuri Cipolla. It is a long story that Hungary how can get to the edge of a civil war after 27 years of the fall of Communism. This is not the right place to write about. But what’s going on:
The Hungarian government has been changed the law of education in order to close the Central European Univerity because it is an independent organization. But in Hungary, just dependent and subjected organizations are OK for the ruling party Fidesz.
During the demonstrations, the corrupt leaders of the ruling party have threatened other universities, organizations, and everybody who stand back freedom of education and civil liberties. The Fidesz usually use the power of „white trash” to gain its goals: football hooligans, far-right groups, its para-military bands together with violent pensioners with acid full with communist nostalgia, and wish for the strong man, who defend themselves against „EU”, „migrants” and „liberalism”, which is a swear-word in the Hungarian right and far-left wing dictionary, it also means „jew”, „Jewish”.
It will emerge in this times that Hungary will be a European style liberal democratic civil country, or de facto a Russian puppet state, and a national socialist officer country on the periphery, who lends money to the Iranian nuclear program.
