Zsófi: ‘Benedek (Past Cat, Zombie Girlfriend,  Galaxisok) és jómagam utoljára 8 éve írtunk közös számot, azt is álnéven. Gondos tervezés után idén tavasszal arra jutottunk, hogy ezúttal szintetikus dream pop műfajban fogjuk kipróbálni magunkat (ez természetesen nem így történt).’

Benedek: ‘Az elképzelhető legdemokratikusabb módon írtuk ezt a kislemezt; amihez Zsófi írt zenét, ahhoz én írtam szöveget, amihez én írtam zenét, ahhoz Zsófi írt szöveget.’

Zsófi: ‘Amikor meghallottam a zenei alapot, amit Benedek írt, egyből tudtam, hogy az inszomniáról szeretnék énekelni’

Benedek: ‘A Jodorowsky-féle Holy Mountain ihlette a szöveget, pont aznap néztem meg, amikor megkaptam az alapot.‘

PIRESIAN BEACH

Our favourite psych garage rock band from Bordeaux JC SATÁN recently released their 5th album CENTAUR DESIRE on BORN BAD RECORDS. Strange that this is their first release which was recorded all together. On the past albums, Arthur (guitar) and Dorian (keyboards) used to handle all instruments.

The title Centaur Desire tells everything about the record. Traditionally the centaurs were the offspring of Ixion, king of a Greek tribe and Nephele the cloud nymph. They lived in the mountains of Thessaly and Arcadia. The centaurs were often represented drawing the chariot of the wine god Dionysus or bound and ridden by Eros, the god of love, in allusion to their drunken and amorous habits. Their general character was that of wild, lawless, and inhospitable beings, the slaves of their animal passions. These passions were channeled into this album with French jauntiness and Italian fervour.

Guess the party was too hardcore

cause the ending song ‘VITAMINS’ reminds me of nothing else but a funeral procession. Despite being the heaviest song on the EP, or the heaviest ever written by PIRESIAN BEACH, it is also very catchy, which can leave you in awkward situations. Like whistling it on your regular summertime visit to the cemetery.” French video maker Psyche Coaster has just made a video for this song

Németh Zsófi (Piresian Beach, Summer Schatzies)

Nem szeretném egy kedvéért mellőzni a többit. Végtelen lelkesedéssel emlékszem valamennyire, de ha egyet kell választani, akkor az, amelyikre mindig el akarok menni, amelyiknek emléke jó kedvre derít, és olykor nosztalgikus könnyeket is csal a szemembe. A TV Colours. Mi (a Summer Schatzies) játszottunk előttük, és volt szerencsénk az egész hétvégét velük tölteni. A buli valami elképesztően fantasztikus volt. Legkedvesebb emlékem a Neighborhood rövid intro-ja utáni pillanat. A szám hirtelen 4/4-re váltott, mire sör töltötte meg a levegőt, mert az emberek – mintha valami jelre vártak volna – minden átmenet nélkül ugrálni kezdtek, mint a hülyék. És onnantól kezdve nem volt megállás. Na és mindemellett, ezek az ausztrál fiuk a legkedvesebb és legokosabb emberi lények a Földön.

RNR666 co-founder’s one man rockabilly blues project, the Szentcsalád Oral Orchestra ( = Holy Family Oral Orchestra) teamed up with the one woman psych garage Piresian Beach and made a dirty garage blues. Guitar solo is played by a special guest, Zoli  from  nohopekids

We hope there will be continuity.

Here’s a bit of the good old self-promotion – it might be a forgivable sin compared to the joy I feel upon these two tracks.

Los Vargitos and Piresian beach are both home recording bands and we often write songs about each other so we finally took the courage to put two of these together.

You can take it as mutual confession, or cheesy self-revelation or like a tomb for two with weird epitaphs.

on the RAZORCAKE by Rick Ecker: „JC SATAN start off with two garage-rock-mixed-with-pop songs that are fuzzed-out jams. They have a nice groove to them and get your head bobbing. PIRESIAN BEACH’s two songs are more experimental and trippy, but really flow well on this single with the other songs. Both bands really did a great job. If you’re into the more out-there and non-traditional punk bands, you’ll like it too.”
