Popular Culture is Henry Mowgli Gillespie. His debut album was recorded after two years of on and off sessions with producer Kyle Ellison (Butthole Surfers, Meat Puppets, Pariah) and Paul Barker (Ministry) in Texas. Tit Wrench is one of my old favourite bands. They are come from Chula Vista (near San Diego in California). It was founded sometime end of the 80s. They played amazing lo-fi electro hardcore punk and released some singles, maxis and three albums. Here is the Tit Wrench mega hit: Live Sucks, Do Me (1991), and here is the extended acid house version: LSD Me (1993). Later the band’s music turned into experimental electronic, then there was a long silence. But not long ago… Fanfares! The Tit Wrench has reunited and written some new songs! A new one and more.

There are two members, Karl Steven and Caoimhe Macfehin who are in the amazing blues trio, Heart Attack Alley. Unfortunately the band went on indefinite hiatus in late 2012. Their latest album was released by Voodoo Rhythm Records. Otherwise Karl Steven is among the highest educated rock musicians. He completed a Ph.D. in Ancient Greek and Roman Philosophy at Cambridge University.

Nina Simone (1933-2003) was a fantastic Afro-American singer and musician. She sang and played jazz, blues, soul, gospel, funk classical and pop songs. The experimental electronic rock band, Xiu Xiu has covered her eleven songs in a peculiar free jazz-like way
