The CRASS was an English anarcho-punk band between 1977- 84. It was founded by the drummer Penny Rimbaud (writer, poet, „toilet-seat philosopher”) and the vocalist Steve Ignorant (sculptor, his after CRASS bands: Conflict, Current 93). The name came from a line of David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust. But contrast with Bowie they wore only black military clothes constantly and used only 40W bulbs during their shows. Within a short time three guitarists, two female vocalists, a film maker, a sound engineer and Gee Vaucher visual artist to joined them. The members got involved in every peace and social movement and beside the music made fanzines and did street art activities. The band became the most influential anarcho-punk band of the world.

The M.O.T.O. (Maters Of The Obvious) was founded in New Orleans in 1981. During his story the band was quartet, trio, duo and Paul Caporino. He is the only constant member, the motor. The band play „proto-lo-fi caveman pop or homemade rock’n’roll”. The Golden Quarter Hour 7″ EP includes 8 new songs which was recorded by a 4-track for the sake of the perfect sound:

A split 7″ with two Finnish bands. A faultless post punk/new wave song from The Lazards and The Seekrets come into my mind the B52’s, and it is great!

Natasha Khan is an English singer-songwriter. She was born into a Muslim family in London to a Pakistani father and an English mother. Her carreer: school truant because of her mates’ racism – card-packing factory worker & songwriter and home music maker – University of Brighton: music and visual arts – make three successful and critically well acclaimed albums between 2006-12 under the name: Bat For Lahes. Those bore me. Her music and voice come in my mind Björk and Madonna. But now here is an exciting track from her, a cover version of an Amir Rassaei song, Aroos Khanom. Accompanied by TOY

Amir Rassaei was(?) an Iranian singer before the Islamic Revolution. After the revolution the western-style music would be banned there, but it’s alive. A very good film about the recent Persian music.
