Berdan says about lyrics: Thematically these songs have more in common with the works of Hubert Selby, Jr (Last Exit to Brooklyn) than Lucio Fulci (City of the Living Dead). These are stories about people at the end of their proverbial ropes. Their old medicines are no longer effective and their old ways of living cause them nothing but confusion and despair. They are paralyzed by fear, regret, and self-doubt.

Greenberg says about music: This music is our response to and our reflection of the overwhelming violence, chaos, hate, and destruction that confronts us and everyone else in the world every day of our lives. When we play, I don’t feel powerless anymore. I hope this record can help others transcend their anger and frustration.

Two San Franciscan hippies (one is guitarist of Wooden Shijps) thought that touring is easier thing for 2 persons than a full band, but realized just all the burdens are divided into two parts. But since last European tour the burdens are divided into three. It was the first case that the band was touring with live drummer, who joined the band just in time for a tour, but finally has become a member.

In Ravenna (Italy) their show was recorded. It will be released in August on Sacred Bones Records (US). It is an extremely limited edition of 2000 most of which will be available from the band on their upcoming European and US tours.

No, the Oozing Wound is a first-class Thrash Metal band without all the banalities of metal, for example needless guitar solos and high-pitched shrieks. Not accidentally the Thrill Jockey to release their debut album. It is not truly a metal label, rather experimental. The Destruction Unit started as a synth-punk solo project by Ryan Rousseau (Reatards, Black Sunday, Digital Leather etc.) in Memphis in 2000. Then Jay Reatard (Reatards, Lost Sounds, etc.) and Alicja Trout (Lost Sounds, Black Sunday, River City Tanlines etc.) joined to him. The first 2 DU album made by them. The band has been through many members and sounds. At the moment they play psychedelic space hard rock, but „we all come from punk backgrounds and we’ve always been a punk band.”
