Two German brothers played jazz with their father, then have formed The Notwist as hardcore-metal band in 1989. Then they turned into grunge, later indie rock and electro pop.

„I wanted to do a rock ‘n roll band, because the best thing in the world is being in a rock ‘n roll band. I guess I’d been friends with Nic (Bed Wettin’ Boys, RIP Society Records) for a really long time and I was saying that to him on a phone, and he’s like “I’m the guy for the job.” – said the Australian musician Angel Bermuda (Circle Pit, Southern Comfort, Straight Arrows) about her brand new project, Ruined Fortune. „It’s a really different sound to Circle Pit though: it’s a bit darker and weirder.” Tight, noisy punk rock in the manner of late 70s-early 80s with cheap Casios, drum machine and metal percussion.
S/T LP by Hozac Records. It was recorded with two drummers, Daniel Spencer (Blank Realm) and Joe Alexander (Per Purpose).

„The sound will be simple and strange” was thought by Mr. Horrell, who founded the Moving Fingers in Memphis. Great primitive lo-fi punk with trumpet and delay pedal on the snare drum

DETROIT The SROS Lords don’t spare their instruments. They are hard on them. In this raw romance they unite in pleasure of the garage synth punk. During the listening I have written these: Screamers, Madness, Mummies, Rancid Hell Spawn, Terrible Twos, Human Eye. If you know about these bands, that’s just enough.

„people come to the show get crazy, jump around, fucking throw my drums around, I don’t give a fuck. I was just want to get fucking wild. Eat food, drink beer, smoke weed, get fucking crazy. That’s all I want people to know.”
This post based on Gas & Vinyl EP. You can download it from here
And what are dominated by SROS Lords?

At first there was an unlucky name: Pangea. It has changed to a stupid one: together Pangea. Bay area soft garage rock.

Gianni Giublena Rosacroce is the solo project of Stefano Isaia. He is known as the singer of the great Italian rock’n’roll band, Movie Star Junkies. Dedalo666, his mate in this project is also from the mentioned band. They make together mystic East-Mediterranean and North-African style* music on piano, marimba, clarinet, cans, glasses, bass and acoustic guitars, drums and percussions. (*Except for the first song, it’s an Indochinese theme.)
Maria Violenza is a Sicilian, who makes electronic music under the influence of her homeland’s mixed cultural heritage. She has written: electro// arabian//punk. I say: lo-fi dark arabesque synth punk.
Gianni Giublena Rosacroce / Maria Violenza split LP by NO=FI Recording (Rome), Lemming (Taranto), Escape From Today (Torino) & Brigadisco Records (Itri)
More music from signorina Violenza. A full show video.

Black Bug – a Swedish / French synth-punk band from Bordeaux. The band was formed by Johan and Lily between two beers in a little Swedish industrial city in 2006. Their sound was formed by experiments with a distorted bass guitar and a distorted child pianino. They moved to French. Then Lily quit. Johann decided to go on doing it alone, but met with Antoine (La Secte du Futur), who joined to him. The third member would be Tibo from the Complications and Destination Lonely.
Csermanek LTP – „I’m punk since when I was 12, but since 2 month I’m a strong new wave fan.” Hungarian synth-punk cabaret.
Broken Cups – One of the best bands of new wave of Hungarian synth-punk.
The next day the show was in Szolnok at the legendary Tomi Büfé also, but instead of Broken Cups there played the Óvantag.
Black Bug at Tomi
„The party in Szolnok was surrealistic. Just like Gregor Samsa’s birthday party.”

THE NEXT RNR666 PARTY > OVO + MOMBU + PARANOIZ > Jan 24 Budapest

Popular Culture is Henry Mowgli Gillespie. His debut album was recorded after two years of on and off sessions with producer Kyle Ellison (Butthole Surfers, Meat Puppets, Pariah) and Paul Barker (Ministry) in Texas. He plays self proclaimed „Dark Pop”. Some names which came to my mind during the listening: Jesus & MC, New Order, Digital Leather, Jonnie Common.
Episode LP by Sparrowsongs. One of the best debut albums this year. You can listen to it totally under both links.

Mongrel Zine is a Canadian print fanzine since 2008. They founded his record label in 2013. Their second item: Bloodshot Bill / Richard Catwrangleur split sinlge
Bloodshot Bill have been playing as one man band since 2008, but was in some bands also. He has two famous collaborations, Tandoori Knight with King Khan, and The Ding-Dongs with Mark Sultan. In the 90s Khan and Sultan were fellow musicians in the notorious Canadian garage punk band, The Spaceshits, later they played together as King Khan & BBQ.
Bloodshot Bill’s new LP is recently released by Norton Records, and the next Dings-Dongs album is coming in November also on Norton.
Richard Catwrangleur writes and plays simple and great experimental-psychedelic-folk-pop-rock-punk songs.

Very funny synth punk with lots of food. The Gabba Ghouls‘ debut album
limited edition cassette by Truly Crude Records
„the Primitive Calculators were always outsiders in Melbourne’s punk scene”

The Primitive Calculators are really great synth-punk band from Australia. They have started in 1978, in same place and same time than the Birthday Party. After a single they relocated to London, in same time than the Birthday Party, and promptly broke up in 1980. But there was a post-split-up single under the name of Zye Ye Ye in England in 1981. The sole album was released in 1980. It’s a live recording of a gig supporting the Boys Next Door in 1979. The Boys Next Door was renamed to Birthday Party.
They would be discovered in the early 2000s. Their records were reissued together with unreleased live and other recordings. Then they have reformed in 2009. A new single was released in last year. And now here is the first studio album!

My opinion is that Audacity is not so good as popular. Others say that Audacity is not so popular as good. The meaning of two sentences is same: they stand before shiny future. Garage punk from Fullerton, CA.
Butter Knife LP by Suicide Squeeze Records
is Shawn Foree of synth-punk Digital Leather’s new project with David Hansen of psych-folk-noise-rock Worried Mothers. The first public track of this industrial noise duo:

At the time, back in the early seventies the Vietnam war was still raging, Susan Dietrich and her husband Joel and their tiny daughter were political exiles living like refugees in the States, terrified that Joel would be imprisoned for having resisted the draft. For nine years they had subsisted on spare change and meager sales of their artwork on the streets. Finding a dilapidated, old accordion in a junk store was the major cause in turning her life around. And „the Space Lady began her odyssey on the streets of San Francisco in the late 70s, playing an accordion and dressed flamboyantly, transmitting messages of peace and harmony. Following the theft of her accordion, she invested in a then-new Casio keyboard…” and plays minimal prog lo-fi space pop. Two songs of her early street sets:
