Lo-fi Lou Reed

After departure of Nico, Warhol and John Cale Lou Reed quit The Velvet Underground in August of 1970. He moved back to the parents and worked his father’s tax accounting firm as a typist. His mates were the pittance, the mental breakdown and the solitude. He recorded a demo at lowest point of his life in fall and winter of 1970. There are some songs which were originally recorded to the Velvet Underground’s “lost album” and early versions of Lou Reed’s songs. You can download it.

The original Venus In Furs:

Shiny, shiny, shiny boots of leather
Whiplash girlchild in the dark
Comes in bells, your servant, don’t forsake him
Strike, dear mistress, and cure his heart
