A rejtélyes és hipertermékeny zajos szintetikus repetitív pszichedeliában utazó
Mater Suspiria Vision mások horrorjaiból zenéikre összevágott filmetüdjei után
megcsinálta egész estés saját zenés filmjét.

A Hollywood Necronomicon képeit és a zenéit
a David Lynch által híressé tett Mullholland Drive-on,
a „Sharon Tate ház”-ban, ahol 1969-ben Charles Manson bandája

A film Magyaroszágon péntek este 10 órától kerül egyszeri vetítésre
Budapesten a Toldi Moziban Küss Mich party keretében, ahol lesznek még
Psycho Galore és Küss Mich DJ-k, meg Stanley Maneuver koncert.
Íme a 60-70-es évek magyar pop dalait experimentális trip hop-ban újraértelmező alkotása.

„Medieval Power Folk” – What?

The singer of the Songs (nothing special Aussie indie pop) decided to record a solo album and enlisted two friends to back her up in 2011. One of them is Nisa Venerosa from the minimal psych something duo, Fabulous Diamonds! During the sessions they decided to form an entirely new band, the Bushwalking. These tracks taken from the second album, No Enter by Chapter Music

heladonegro

Son of Ecuadorian immigrants in the Latin-American bustle of South-Florida. The sounds of tropical nature and environment arouse his interest, for example: the sound of subwoofers in the cars, the howling music of portable stereos, the uproars of night parties. He looks on every device as musical instrument. He feels strange attraction to the owls. He calls himself Black Ice Cream.

„We live together, we act on, and react to, one another; but always and in all circumstances we are by ourselves. The martyrs go hand in hand into the arena; they are crucified alone. Embraced, the lovers desperately try to fuse their insulated ecstasies into a single self-transcendence; in vain.” (Huxley). With the Island Universe Story series, Helado Negro has set out to chart new constellations and family lineage for the lonely souls and stars of the deep universe of existence. In latin experimental style:

Toropical Circle (After Roomic Cube)

I have heard of him already, but didn’t know about him too many things until this album that he has made with Takako Minekawa. I have caught sight of her name and pounce on the record immediately so I had to know him:

Dustin Wong is a Hawaiian born half Chinese/half American guitarist. He grew up in Japan and went to college to the US. There he founded an experimental guitar duo with Matthew Papich (nowadays: Co La), the Ecstatic Sunshine (2004-07) and the Deerhoofesque art rock band, Ponytail (2005-11). After the break-up he has begun solo career and made experimental guitar albums. He lives in Japan again.

Takako Minekawa is a Japanese musician. She was active in the 90’s as the most interesting shibuya-kei artist. The term comes from Tokyo’s Shibuya ward. The district is the centre of the Japanese fashion and pop culture. Shibuya-kei (literally: Shibuya system) is described as a mix of jazz, pop and synthpop. Takako Minekawa’s music is experimental shibuya-kei. She loves cats, clouds, Kraftwerk, French pop and vintage instruments.

They have met in Tokyo in 2011 after a Dustin Wong gig and become working together. The outcome of their labour is the recently born Toropical Circle album. It’s Takako Minekawa’s first work for 13 years. Her weird synth sounds and dreamy singing voice meets his strange guitar sounds

The record is rather experimental with ambient, gamelan and oriental moods than pop, but there are some shibuya-kei moments too. It’s a really nice, pleasant album.
