Lilacs & Champagne is a project of an instrumental rock band, the Grails’ two members, Emil Amos and Alex Hall. The L & C was created to be a direct tribute to the musical outsiders of the past. The Danish & Blue album made up of sounds sourced from Scandinavian porn and hyper-obscure b-movies from the late 60s.

To tell the truth I think that his name speaks for itself and no need more words, but I know: OK the name speaks for a very good witty musician but this is known by only few people. This circumstance needs more words: after the split of his short lived first band (where his girlfriend plays trash cans) Dan Melchior sent a cassette to Billy Childish. With him, but mainly with Holly Golightly (It’s not a stage-name! Really.) worked together.

Mr Queer Fish wrote and recorded an autobiographical concept album in Detroit, 1981. For sake of the simplicity he hired the studio owner’s funky band as backing group. It was a superb decision, because it born so unique style and sound which ahead of his time: lo-fi fuzzy minimal funk rock. Mr. Queer Fish pressed 100 or 200 copies without sleeve and buried the records in his parents’ basement. Resurrection time!

Already I have seen a Singaporean HC band which have not only Finnish name, but they sing in Finnish, and play Finnish hardcore sure. Already I have met a Japanese HC band which have not only Italian name, but they sing in Italian, and play Italian hardcore sure. And now here is a Japanese HC band, which have Swede name, but they sing in English, and play Swede hardcore sure.

The Black Pus is Brian Chippendale. He is the drummer Lightning Bolt and Mindflayer. He has been chosen by Björk and The Flaming Lips as a collaborator and played on Lee “Scratch” Perry’s Repentance album (2008).

Adrian Tenney‘s every records are very good. I think it on the basis of three albums. This is a garage punk. This is not!!! And then here is her solo project, the Badlands. The So Little album has made in the Southern-Californian desert. Naturally it is acoustic. There were lots of instruments. The unusual are ukulele, shaker and some Balinese instruments: Ceng-Ceng, Gongs, Kempli, Kenong, Kajar. She has played all, except for the Kajar, and every vocal has made by her, and the album was recorded by her. I don’t write that she is the author of all songs, it is so much evident. Yes, it’s a very personal album. South-Californian desert folk:

Vanishing Winter is the Dear Eloise‘s fourth 7” on Genjing Records (and seventh release overall), is a departure from the playful shoegaze-influenced pop purity of their earlier work, tacking down a darker path:

Li Daiguo, the acclaimed boundary-pushing musical polymath known as much for his complex compositions performed on a wide spectrum of traditional instruments as his often-bewildering live performances that have seen the American-born Chinese cavort with gypsies, tramps and other self-described lunatics alongside some of the country’s most respected avant-garde and experimental musicians. His latest effort, the seven-inch vinyl release Music for Advertisements, sees Li presenting a series of sonic advertisements for seven locations that the 32-year-old appreciated during his six years in Chengdu. „I practice a lot of different styles of music, including shona music, classical Indian, Chinese and Western classical music plus different types of Chinese opera and the like. (…) The Music For Advertisement 7″ is about emotions that I observed and had that were associated in my mind with things going on in Chengdu when I lived there—not necessarily big things or events, but just little things that you might notice and have a feeling about. (…) And how long you sit there and watch, listen and what the day is like will obviously affect the mood—like hoards of rickshaws and cars and bicycles like massive schools of fish through the smog or the dark dampness of a TB hospital where people are full of a variety of emotions while waiting in line outside under the perpetually-grey skies of  Chengdu to test their blood or do X-rays and not cough blood everywhere.”

Invisible Hand plays baroque acid-rock with power-pop guitar theatrics. From and inspired by the ever pastoral central Virginian landscape, with two members having served time as actors (including bit parts as Bat Boys and Charles Darwins), a full time food enthusiast and a visual artist with a knack for the French chanteuses of bygone eras. For fans of the Kinks, XTC, Squeeze, Wire, Buzzcocks, Sparks etc.

Peals is a new band led by William Cashion (Future Islands, synth-pop trio) and Bruce Willen (Double Dagger, drum and bass post punk duo). Their music is different character like his mentioned bands. Their first LP, the „Walking Field is headphone music for summer afternoons and cold winter nights; a soundtrack for deserted beaches and wooded campfires; the feeling of a sunrise alone, or a sunset with a close circle of friends.” There all sounds were generated by guitars and microphones.
