Vitamins, Cheap Guitars, Expensive Beers

The new PIRESIAN BEACH EP „shows

that Zsófia Németh is not here to make music to run away from boredom. These tunes prove her progression of writing better and better pop songs, in a shell of garage and psychedelic rock.

Guess the party was too hardcore

cause the ending song ‘VITAMINS’ reminds me of nothing else but a funeral procession. Despite being the heaviest song on the EP, or the heaviest ever written by PIRESIAN BEACH, it is also very catchy, which can leave you in awkward situations. Like whistling it on your regular summertime visit to the cemetery.” French video maker Psyche Coaster has just made a video for this song

You can download the EP from Bandcamp for free but you can support PIRESIAN BEACH with a donation as well. (Money will go on cheap guitars or expensive beers). And buy PIRESIAN BEACH / JC SATÁN split 7″ with 2×2 songs.

For Record Store Day # 1

This is a day for the people who make up the world of the record store – the staff, the customers, and the artists – to come together and celebrate the unique culture of a record store and the special role these independently owned stores play in their communities. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day, hundreds of artists make special appearances and performances since 2007. Record Store Day will be on April 19 this year.

theeoh

Thee Oh Sees announced their hiatus in December, but there happened something because the new album „Drop” will be released on Record Store Day by Castle Face Records. 70s psychedelic rock from Beatles to Black Sabbath via glam station.

The band formed as a side project in 1997 by John Dwyer. Then he was in the Coachwhips (wild garage punk, disbanded, re-united this year), The Hospitals (noise rock, quit) and Pink and Brown (noise punk, disbanded). Maybe John Dwyer is an hyperactive person, because there was a solo album under the name of Damaged Bugs in February.

Dorian Pimpernel for the dream and ecstasy. French psychedelic pop. They said: moonshine pop: „esoteric, whimsical, volatile, evil little sister of the famous “sunshine pop” of Califorina.” Inspired by the first wave of psychedelia, kraut rock and music of the 60s cinema (esp.Morricone, Basil Kirchin). With a bunch of old instruments and lost illusions on the path which lead nowhere.

‘Allombon’ album on Born Bad Records

It’s meaningful that their debut album was released in Japan, 2006.

42 Minutes Away From Reality

Quilt – Held In Splendor LP on Mexican Summer

Until it is blowing great guns, you light a fire in, preparing your last 2 years most remarkable untold experiences to animate it now. The dreams are shining brighter and vividly in the kaleidoscope, desires begin sharper, the jeans are dirtier than ever by those old blues tones. Now put a stamp on your mail, create a braid from the voices, plunge your shoes into the glistening nocturnal lights, then step on the rusty nails in the drunkship by the dawn. After a cigarette tasting coffee you hung all the 13 pictures on the wall, dust the threadbare seat of your turquoise Cadillac, Snow White gives a kiss on your nose, finally beyond recovery you reel into the chrome yellow sky. You are 42 minutes away from reality.

If you know The Pussywarmers then you will be surprised. There is no trace of the punk swing. Chansons, folk ballads, psychedelic beats, rocks and seagulls on a tropical coast. I like this better than the previous albums, but one thing is missing for me, the polyglotry.
